Another Holster Help--Question

Is this holster NCOWS Legal?
Trying to get out of buying more leather and this is the only leather I have for 4 5/8" Vaqueros.

Kinda hard to say looking at the photo, but it looks like the triggerguard rests on top of the holster.  NCOWS requires the holster to not be lower than the leading edge of the triggerguard.  So, if no part of the holster covers any part of the triggerguard, the holster would not meet NCOWS standards.  Look at Packing Iron and you'll see that the only holster with the rear below the triggerguard is a Slim Jim with that part of the holster broken off!  Pretty much says that they were never made that low in the rear of the holster.

Holsters of the era sat deeper in the pouch - triggerguards and cylinders were thus 'protected' and the whole idea was 'security' - rather than a swift draw.

Your local Public Library can order you a copy of Rattenbury's 'Packing Iron' on an inter-library loan.

Once you peruse it - you'll want your own copy.

For 'that' matter - it's the gift-giving season of Christmas - you still have time to hint...

Cole, the trigger guard actually sets about a 1/4" deep in the holster, I know that's minuscule but it is covered.
That's measuring from the cylinder cut out straight down, if you look closely you can't see any of the front or top of the trigger guard.
Not trying to nit-pick, just trying to get out of buying new holsters right now, kinda leather poor as it is.
I already have "Packing Iron', had it about 12-14 years now.
The shoot after Christmas- - - - maybe, depending on the weather.......you know how that is!!
If not then - - - next year, some for sure.

  The rules on holsters are very liberal. Actually the holster in question may be just barely legal.
