I love it.
All America lies at the end of the wilderness road, and our past is not a dead past, but still lives in us. Our forefathers had civilization inside themselves, the wild outside. We live in the civilization they created, but within us the wilderness still lingers. What they dreamed, we live, and what they lived, we dream. -- T.K. Whipple

And now New Pard, are you convinced that cowboys are as crazy as fur trappers? ;D  At least some are, Slim I think we got a live one here. ;D ;D ;D ;)

In my Living History demonstrations I do stuff with Mnt. Men, Civil War, both Billy Yanks and Johnny Rebs, cowboys and other of the period, even farmers with mules and horses doin' farm work.  The really crazy ones are steam engine folks.  Talk about expensive gear.

Waal, I seen this thread pop up again, and just had to see what was goin' on.  Did ya' ever eat tongue, MtnMan?  It's right good, done right.  I see by yer profile, that you are in that there OlyPen region of the great northwest (got friends there that have the same server addy).  Are you a reformed 'skinner, or just expandin' yer horizons?  There's quite a few folks here that are, or used to be into the fur trapper era scene.  Me, I never got into it formally, but have been a practicioner (sp?) since I was a pup.
