Highlight your classified ads in your signature

Many members ask me if they can post a link to their classified ad on one of the boards. As a general rule and since the classified section is a part of the forum, we consider it crossposting and it is not allowed, but there is a better way to do it.

If you have ads in the classifeds you can post a link to it in your signature line. This way, it will show up in all your posts, both new and old.

The signature line can be edited on your profile page (Forum Profile Information).

The text code you can add can be like this:

[url=http://www.cascity.com/classifieds/showcat.php?cat=500&ppuser=xxxx][color=red][b][size=10pt]See my ads in Cas City Classifieds[/size][/b][/color][/url]
=xxxx must be replaced with your actual user id #.

It will then show up in your posts like you see in my signature below.

To find the url to your ads, go to classifieds and click on My Ads on the meny. Look up the address line in your browser and you will see you user id at the end of the address line.

You can also use this link on other forum, but make sure it is allowed. Every forum has their own rules, so check what is allowed in posts and in your signature.

to add a thumbnail picture of your ad and a title plus link it up to the classified page.
