Terry Yates and myself in front of the Museum of the Confederacy with our Spencers during a living history yesterday.  I got the infantry rifle while he settled for the wimpy looking carbine.  Ok, I like his carbine but, do think that the rifle version looks and handles better.  We'll have to get together and have a Spencer Shoot Off sometime in the spring.

The Museum of the Confederacy, is in Richmond adjacent to the Confederate white house....
Just to the right of the photo of Stephen & Mr Yates is the drive shaft of the CSS Virginia (Monitor & Miramac fame)
Inside you will find RE Lee's camp set with his Saddle & Tack, TJ Jackson's Uniform along with Hood's and others...
It is  one of the best Confederate collections and repository of Confederate records anywhere.
It alone is worth a trip to Richmond.... The adjacent white house of the Confederacy is the icing on the cake,
and while in Richmond see the Battle Abbey for the finest collection of Confederate Flags & uniforms.
Not mention The National park tour of the Richmond Battlefields... Tredegar Iron Works where cannon were produced...
and so much more.
