Never did give any beer to the dogs. I did enough passin' out on the floor in my college days. I don't think I could do that now. Too old and still, couldn't get up off the floor.

them boys and girl get cheeto's pretty often,  Jackie likes em, so they go beg off her.     

Ice Cream is what they beg the most off me.  I always get a little extra so they can have a bite or two.  they perfer Yandel's

Marvin found out recently he likes eggnog, really gets excited if ya get some of it.

Shane weren’t a dog, Tex. Shane was my partner. Werked tagether ‘n played tagether e’erday. Always had a beer with my partners after a hard day's werk.

Arcey my hat is off to your late pard.

I know it says pet in it, but I send this to all friends who have lost a dog pard, no matter what kind of pard they were.


Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

That  "Shane! Shane! Come Back Shane! was from the Movie "Shane". Brandon DeWilde's lines to Alan Ladd's character as Alan's character rides away. It always seens that Shane is dying and didn't want to die infront of the little boy.

Owners had ‘im chained to a tree when we got werd from Portsmouth PD someone had a dog to donate. They didn’t need ‘im, had two waitin’ for handlers.

He was nine months old ‘n we didn’t take ‘em less than a year. I needed a dog so we sorta ignored that.

Didn’t want me nowhere near ‘im when I went ta check ‘im out. Sat on the ground outside ‘is circle ‘n let ‘im bark ‘n snarl. Talked to ‘im. Told ‘im we could be pards. He calmed down. I was scared stupid when I walked in on ‘im ‘n slipped a choke chain o’er ‘is head. Reckon he figgered life would better with me than it was chained ta a damned tree. We walked to the truck ‘n he jumped in like he belonged. Still have the choke chain.

No doubt he’s waitin’ on me, Del.

I've had a lot of great dogs over the years and look forward to seeing them again and cross the RAINBOW BRIDGE together.

Couldn't find a Norfolk K9 patch.  Seems like the only one they didn't have.

     Look forward ta seein my first dog again.  A shepard mix, chewed up all ma Christmas preasants right after I opened em an sat down ta breakfast the first year we had him.  I couldn't get mad at him.  Mom took him back ta the pound once fer chewin things up but couldn't take bein home without him all day.  I came home from school one afternoon an there he was, just like nothin had ever happened.  I was one happy kid.
