SN# location on H&R .32 topbreaks?

Not on the barrel of my gun, there are 3 digits on the cylinder but that's  prolly not the whole thing.

Is it inside the gun somewhere? Gun is late 1890's...

When I take cylinder out , it under da topstrap. 4 digits 27xx.

A lot of old guns don't even have serial numbers.  They weren't required by law until well into the 20th Century.

Many older guns use Assembly #'s to help get the correct parts back on the correct firearm after they have been put through the final finishing.
These Assembly #'s may "sometime" (depending on the Maker) be the last three or four digits of the actual serial #.

The actual Serial # maybe either on the bottom of the grip or under the grip panel, stamped on the inside of the grip strap.
