Some good stuff, ER. Thanks for posting them. Thanks to the Marshal for helping with that, too.

Howdy ER........

Just wanted to say they look really nice, I like that older, well used look you got, and the very novel and pleasing look to a pair of skins for those Schofields.....WOW!

ER, those look great.  Truly a work of art!

Here's one I just finished tonight.  A friend of mine wanted a new holster for his S&W 645.  I put this together for him.  What do you all think?

Looks good, Unc. I like the way you used the flower center as a repeat pattern.

Thanks Marshal.  That same friend I made the holster for made himself a belt with that pattern.  I made him a holster and a key keeper with the same pattern.

I've also learned that the most simple patterns and tools make, in my opinion, the best designs.  I've a copy of Packing Iron and the carving and stamping on many, if not most, of the holsters are just basic tools with basic designs.

Also, thanks Marshal for the information on the edger.  What you were saying makes PERFECT sense now to me.  I'll be tracking down a #1 beveler and making some modifications on it.

Remember, Unc. If you can't find the right tool, you can always make one or turn a larger one into the size you want with a set of Swiss files. I've done that on many occasion. Just remember to polish the tip well so it doesn't drag on the leather.

Attention...
Irish Red O'Toole will now be sporting this on the range.   ;D

There is a matching shotgun belt and cartridge slides on the way.

If he scratches this there's gonna be hell to pay... ;D
As the proud owner of this true work of art, let me tell you all something.  Kid Cavalier is one of the best leather makers I've ever seen.  The attention to detail and the workmanship are not to be believed.  I used the whole rig (shotgun belt and cartridge slides too) this past weekend.  I lost count of how many people were staring at it and making comments about the rig.  I think when I opened the box, I heard angels singing.  Truly a beautiful rig.  Way too good for me, but I'll manage to work through it somehow!! ;D ;)

Greetings and Salutations to one and all.

Pards and Pardettes, What nice stuff!  Unk, Pard I love the" Phantom" double auto rig.  It would go real good with The Doc's leather suite.  Doc, Pardette that is a work of art, you could have a future making custom cycle leather wear.  Probably more money in BD stuff though.  Dark Star, Pard for a first try you done better than I did on my third.  Nice touch with the decorative cuts.  Guano, Pard I love the RED, the cut of the belt is just great real classy. Tommy, Pard I especially like the '51 Colt holster, the Black one with the fringe and the turquoise spots. And the rest of you Pards have done some real nice stuff.  Of cource the Kid's stuff is remarkable,  I am just enamored with the concept of using  firearm engraveing patterns for the carving, Brilliant!

Nice touch dying the lining the same color as the trim color, ER. I don't know that I'd have thought of it.

Howdy Pards.

Marshal, Pard I didn't dye the linings to match the trim, I dyed the trim to match the linings.  The whole time I was planning them Yellow holsters the Red lining was screaming at me.   I was going to make a belt out a piece of dark brown predyed pebble grain chrome tanned I have.  Yup the belt was a question but the color of the lining never was.

Now that I have finished that belt I can get on with two other belts that I need to make.  One is a leather shotgun belt, I built a set of Schofield holsters with a really big belt loop to fit over a full shotshell belt.  I have an ammo pouch that fits over the full belt to hold  pistol/rifle ammo.  I wanted to get fancy and make the shell loops with bottom tabs sewn to the belt, but I don't think that I am ready for that quite yet so they will only have a speed bump sewn on under them.  Belts and bullit loops are where I want a stitcher, oh well winter is upon us so I have plenty of time for sewing.

Just my two bits in the kitty.

I just got these holsters today from Springfield Slim (Whyte Leather Works) and  I absolutely love them!  They fit my Remington NMA 5 1/2" (top) and my Uberti Cattleman 4 3/4" (bottom) perfectly.

Here is a blatant plug for Slim:
