It strikes me as sort of creepy how some things just make you feel like they are wrong, TK.  The first time, and every time I went to Oroville, I had the feeling that there was something not quite right about the place, and especially after the first time I saw that dam from the road going up the Feather River canyon from town.  I said to my self that that dam was a disaster waiting for a time  to happen.  I truly hope it holds, and that the state water authority can salvage it.

Morning y'all.
Coffee is hot.

'Tis 27 and sunny. "Blustery. Partly cloudy. A chance of rain showers and snow showers in the afternoon. Highs around 40. West wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of precipitation 30 percent."

Morning all.

Here we are at this "Valentine's Day" thing again.  Everyone is out buying flowers and going to dinner and such...  I'm waiting for the 75% off chocolate tomorrow.  ::)

PE, that's actually a fairly common sentiment.  I've heard many people express the same foreboding type of feeling.  Many people say the same thing about Mt. Shasta.  :o   I've always been interested in the engineering aspects of dam building, So I've researched it pretty heavily over the past 5 or so years, and even the head design engineer thought the placement of the dam in that area was a bad idea because the ground was too soft.  Maybe next time the politicians will listen to the multi-million dollar surveys they conducted next time.  Probably not, but maybe.

Nice shotgun, by the way Slim.

Morning all.

I'm not sure what the weather is doing right now.  It keeps going back and forth between windy and calm.

Nothing on the agenda today, really.  I thought I was going to help a friend go to the city and bring a boat back(!?), but that sale fell through, so I'm probably just going to play with the dog. ::)

They're saying the emergency spillway down in Oroville is structurally sound, which is good considering it's holding back almost 1M acre feet of water. :o  The dam itself is not in any danger, but the river is running almost 96 feet deep in places.  Needless to say, boating isn't happening.

Food and drink are ready!

Been tied up gettin my newest toy up and runnin,  Replacedmy old cell phone with a smart phone.  If this thing is so smart, why does it take so much teaching to get it to work the way I want it,  It should just KNOW how it's supposed to work!  Now I'm trying to get it, my tablet and my desktop all linked and synced.

RT,

I very much agree!

I got a new (to me) older cell phone. Trying to get use to it? It will take sometime I know, but I m not ready to give up my old home phone for it just yet!
Big issue is I can't hear the incoming call or the callers words over the phone.
Second issue is using the phones key board.
I have long thin fingers, but they seem to splash all over the key board. Very frustrating when trying to type in new information.
I am not sure the effort is worth the gains.
My best,

Standard built like a baked clay building material privy type flip phone.  Got the tablet if I need the net away from my desk top.

Just a flip phone here. Laptop that is now just like a desktop, in that the battery has died so it only works when plugged in. No internet if I'm not at home. Survived all these years without 24/7/365 internet, guess I still can.

I got the tablet for better weather than the fliphone.

I'm still carrying the flip type. Fits in a holster on my belt and is out of the way and safe. My associate has a smart phone, a new one to replace the one he cracked the face on. The new one's face is cracked all ready too, just not in a bad place. One, I don't need a phone that's smarter than I am. Two, it just doesn't get damaged.

In the upper 40's to low 50's here today with sun. Just got done cleaning the mud off two pairs of work shoes/boots. The two new homes here are in a bunch of mud for lots. We moved the tires/wheels and the axles yesterday. Plus most of the wrapping and scrap wood from them as well.

Doing Sandra's laundry and cleaning floors ::) :P

Six o'clock PM here, and 68 degrees! In FEBRUARY! Same forecast for tomorrow, then it gets warmer! Had off yesterday and today, been working on new fence, pipe corners set in concrete. Welded the braces with my 110 volt Wire welder, hooked to a 3500 watt generator. Ugh. I think the welder must draw 3499 watts, it really makes the generator grunt.
