Peeked out the door a minute ago. We've got about 2" on the ground right now but has stopped sn@wing and seems to be melting already. The forecast is calling for possibly some more by the time the sun comes up.

WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM PST TUESDAY...
* CHANGES...Updated snow forecasts to show additional amounts and updated information in additional details section.
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 3 feet, except 3 to 6 feet above 7000 feet. Sierra ridge winds are expected to exceed 100 mph with occasional gusts 40 to 50 mph possible in lower elevations.
* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area.
* WHEN...Until 10 PM PST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible, especially this afternoon and tonight when major trans-Sierra pass closures are possible. Strong winds could cause extensive tree damage in exposed higher, and wildfire burn areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates of 1-2 inches/hour are expected, with heavier bursts of snow producing snowfall rates of at least 3 inches/hour and whiteout conditions especially during this evening and late tonight. Expect dangerous boating conditions on Lake Tahoe with wave heights of 2 to 5 feet.
