French Terror Alert
« on: November 11, 2004, 03:23:43 PM »

Both AP and UPI reported that the French Government announced yesterday
it has raised its terror alert level from "run" to "hide." The only two
higher levels in France are, "surrender" and "collaborate."

The raise was precipitated by the recent fire which destroyed one of
France's white flag factories, disabling their military forces. :o

Didn't know they had a "hide".  Always thought they started with "run".

I always thought French was an easy language to learn, no matter what you say it means "I Give Up!" :o

I'm no fan of the French, especially lately, but historically this is not accurate.

I just got done reading a book on the First WW and they certainly did not surrender or hide.  In the battle of Verdun alone they had almost a million casualties.  The Germans never did overrun the fort.

I'm a veteran.  And I don't think we want to disgrace those brave soldiers memories.  Think before you type.

While I appreciate Pukin' Dog's sentiments regarding veternas, in WW One, the French were indeed collapsing towards Paris before a rampaging German Army until stiffened by a large infusing of American AEF troops in 1917.

And in counting the bravery of an army, customarily one counts the casualties inflicted on one's enemy...oui or non?
