Good hand tools
« on: February 25, 2024, 09:12:25 PM »
Who makes a decent hand tool for this that will fit the various .50 cases such as the .56-50 and .50-70? My little old Lee is a loose fit.                                                                  Run 3

Hello, Erikamills18:

I suggest you contact Buffalo Arms in Ponderay, ID at 208-263-6953.
They will know what is currently compatable.  Over many years, I have found company literature indicating a particular hand priming tool was suitable, especially "universal" ones, to be incorrect.

There have been some semi-custom re-de capping hand tools, but they are out of production.  I use one from Meecham Tool, who is out of business.  It takes CH4D shellholer #57, which is for the 50 Sharps and 50 Spencer cases. There will be some wiggle room in all of them to accommodate minor variations in rim OD and thickness. Please let us know what you learn.  Thanks. Smiles.

This is very strange.  Three people had their first post on this topic.  I'm thinking at least the last two are AI bots and will report them as such, and let the moderators figure it out.

If either cloakedoink or celemtine are real people, I invite them to come back on and prove me wrong.

Wow, they are gone within a couple minutes!  Moderators or admin are on the ball!  :)
