Kansas on the 1st day of January
« on: January 01, 2006, 02:44:00 PM »
January 1st 2006 in Kansas...
The weather today is windy and almost hot. It is about 73 degrees outside.
Marshal and I took our lunch outside and sat in the swing and ate.. and there were a few flys and 2 bees that were flying around!
Dang-nabbit.. I can't believe this!? It is GREAT! I hope it lasts until May.. LOL

73 DEGREES Can you believe that?!
In KANSAS!!.In the middle of winter..when it is usually snow and ice and a north wind that would freeze the brass ball......
...... weeeelllll...ahhhh~~a north wind that is REAL COLD...

( I got kind of carried away there for a minute or 2 in all my excitement I forgot my lady like manners.)

Howdy Marshal'ette,
I remember times when we would get a warm spell and folks would be out washing their cars by hand
in January. Of course, within a day or so you were bundled up again. Enjoy it while it lasts and Happy
New Year to you and the Marshal!

P.S.
Where did you get the "I Love Kansas" banner? I want one.

Marshal'ette Hi

Our first day of January downunder was in the high and mean HIGH 40c, it was that hot it would melt the paint of the house.

The second day of January it is back to a nice mid 20c.

Happy New Year to you and the Marshal

This must be in the deep south of Kansas. Out in western Kansas where I grew up I sure don't remember it being that comfortable in Jan.  Now down here in Arizona it is usually around 70 degrees every day in the winter.

Howard is in the south east corner of the state.
We are about 85 miles east of Wichita..in the Flint Hills...
a whole lot diifferent area than the flat western part of Kansas

Howdy Marshal'ette,
P.S.
Where did you get the "I Love Kansas" banner? I want one.

You can save it off here.. but I sent it to you in an e-mail..I use Incredimail and have lots and lots and LOTS of stationary , animations etc that I use in my e-mails. I think it makes them come alive and the mails are more fun for people to receive.

Thank you , ma'am!

As a native of southeast Kansas I can vouch that it is different topography than the
rest of the state. Folks here in western Colorado think it's all flat. I just suggest they
travel across Hwy 50 instead of I-70 next time or take a detour through the Flint Hills.
Of course I like the plains too.

I live in Western Kansas, where I can see for miles and miles in any direction, don't want some no-account sneaking up on me winter or summer!
I agree on a very strange winter this year, way below zero in November, blizzards in December, picking banannas in January....

Can't remember the year - late 70's I think - I went squirrel hunting Christmas Day wearing cutoffs and a T-shirt.  They were out, too.  They must've figured it was an early spring.  I'm about 30 miles SE of Marsall'ette - the lowest point in Kansas (approx 700' ASL) - where the Verdigris River crosses the OK line.

It was nice here in Kansas City too.  The Kansas side of course.  Unfortunately I was inside nursing a RARE hangover and did not get the opportunity to enjoy the day until late.

If your hangover consists of a headache...
Drinking 2 glasses of Gaterade back to back... will almost immediately take away the headache.

Too late now.. but if you ever have another occasion where you find yourself with a "rare hangover"..try it...

((You didn't get your head cought between the wall and toilet stool or end up with your underware on the car antennia..did you? :-\))
*PLEASE   :-[ don't ask me to explain either one of those..... :-X *
