Grafs, just up the road at Mexico sells it both over the counter and will ship to your address.

Powder Inc. in Arkansas will also ship to you.

Good on you Ranch,

Grafs own black powder is actually Schuetzen.  Same stuff, different can.  I like Schuetzen.

Yes Grafs powder is good powder. But it won't hold a candle to Olde Eynsford, and Grafs has that in stock as well. ;)

Olde Einsford won't hold a candle to Swiss either.  Question is one of value.  Choose your mission, then your powder.  Consult your purse and choose wisely.

Actually there are a number of shooters leaving Swiss in favor of Olde Eysnford.
Might want to get a can or two and try it.

OE is a little bit hotter than Swiss, leaves a softer fouling and costs 25-30% less. wM1

I get nervous when you start talking about holding a candle to black powder.

In the past I have been using different powder depending on my application but for it's price and quality I will be ordering Old E in the future, it rivals Swiss for a price I can live with across the board.

Here's a quote from another board from a shooter who has laid quite a wide swath shooting smokeless and subs. He recently decided to jump off into the blackpowder world, and after listening carefully he bought and developed loads for both Swiss and Olde Eynsford. Then proceeded to use both loads in a 1000 yd match that engauges four targets.

Oh, what I also learned today, is that Swiss 1 1/2 (when it's 90+ degrees out turn's into concret), Old E 2F does not. Was wiping, two wet, one dry.

I even use it in my 38 S&W. After 25 rnds the back of the cylinder has moist fouling on it. wM1

I ran 50 rounds thru the 38-40 bisley clone and the gun never even tried to tie up. Took about 6 cleaning patches to clean the barrel and the cylinder.

Ranch Sir,

Had you been running my Big Lube®LLC 38-40 bullets you'd have cleaned that bore with a spritz of moosemilk and a tug of the boresnake.  Yer workin' too hard. :-)

Yeh but then you have to clean the bore snake, and besides your bullets waste way to much lube, and don't deliver the accuracy I expect.

Clean matches speak to the accuracy.  Lube is good, more is better.  Bore snake cleans easy, is reusable and puts many times the floss on the bore than any other cleaning patches etc.  Hoppe's is happy.  Quit whining because of my easy cleanup, continuing accuracy and function.

Just talked with a somewhat nationally known shooter on his way home from the bpcr sillouette nationals. He had loaded his ammo using 1.5 Olde Eynsford instead of his usual Swiss.. said chronograph testing before he left showed he needed to up the charge going to OE. In the end he only cleaned his gun at the end of the day (shot 4 days) and was totally happy with the performance of the OE powder, said the end of the day cleanup took him 3 patches. When he gets home he's ordering a case of OE , and the Swiss is history.

Dastardly lets have you start the excuse list now as to why you didn't shoot the bptr regional match at Lodi in 2 weeks.

Well 13, it's like this.  I'll be at Squiny Eye and then off to Devil's Lake in North Dakota for some walleye fishing.  You can pack only so much fun into a schedule.  My life is actually more than just shooting and I shoot for fun.  I'll leave the Cadillac in the parking lot for you to win, thank you.
