WEHS Music program.......WOW!

I'm sure it's not a local problem.  Waaayyyy back when our kids were in gradeschool, I remember the opening remarks asking everyone to turn off phones and pagers; and that even after their child had performed they were expected to remain in their seats until intermission so as not to distract the other children performing or disturb the other audience members.  They reminded folks that they would have plenty of time after the performance to visit if they wished to. 

It seemed to work then, but anyone who made noise or got up got the 'evil' eye from everyone in their general area too ~ peer pressure can be used for good!  While being publicly 'shushed' can make someone resentful, a handfull of adults turned around to stare silently at you can make a person want to become silent and invisible.

I've notice the trend at other public events and have, more than once, had to gently remind someone that I needed to hear the speaker and would continue our 'conversation' later.
