Sheryl Ann "Termite" Hunt, age 77, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away May 10, 2022 at her home.  She was born June 17, 1944 in Winfield, Kansas, the daughter of Elvis Eugene "Slim" and Ruth Eleanor (Hoop) Renner.

Sheryl was raised in and around Oxford, Udall, and Moline, Kansas where her father farmed and ranched.  She attended school through 3rd grade in Oxford berfore her family moved to a farm near Moline in 1953.  She attended school there, graduating from Moline High School in 1962.

Following high school, Sheryl attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas from 1962 to 1964.  She later moved to Winfield where she worked in the Dietary Departments at both the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center and William Newton Hospital.  Sheryl was united in marriage to Gary Chester Hunt on February 26, 1990 in Winfield where the couple made their home.  She eventually started working at Binney & Smith Crayola Company where she remained for over 31 years, receiving several awards for her outstanding attendance.  Sheryl would take vacation from work only to help out at the farm during harvest time.  She later went to work for Galaxy Tool in the maintenance and shipping and receiving departments for over eight years, retiring on June 30, 2006.  Gary preceded Sheryl in death on May 15, 2018.

Sheryl enjoyed dogs, horses, being outdoors, and taking walks.  She was a member of the Moline Shining Star 4-H Club, the Binney & Smith 25-Year Club, and was involved with the Elk County Junior Leaders and the Elk County 4-H Council.

Survivors include her stepson, Michael (Jackie) Hunt of Arkansas City, Kansas; her three step-grandchidlren, Candace (Chris) Hendricks of Arkansas City, Kasnas, Chet (Amy) HUnt of Chanute, Kansas, and Kasha Hunt of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; and her five step-great-grandchidlren, Jaren Hendricks, Bailey Hendricks, Hunter Hendricks, Greyson Hunt, and Rowen Hunt.  Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gary.

Graveside memorial services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Moline Cemetery in Moline, Kansas under the direction of Miles Funeral Service, 5001 E. 9th Avenue, Winfield, Kansas 67156.  In lieu of flowers, mememorials are suggested to the William Newton Healthcare Foundation.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
