Dale Eugene Crismas, 79, of Independence, Kansas, passed away January 27, 2022 at his home.  He was born March 30, 1942 in Howard, Kansas to Wilma Ruth (Westwood) and Alva Lee Crismas.

His family were sharecroppers, and Dale attended thirteen different one-room schools growing up.  He went to high school in Climax, Kanas and Severy, Kansas before graduating from Eureka High School in Eureka, Kasnas. He then worked at the Eureka Mill and Elevator and then the Paul Parks Skelly Gas Station.  This led to him being hired at the Kansas Department of Transportation in 1967 and becoming an engineer in the Road Department before retiring in 2005.

On November 1, 1962, Dale married Judith Knight at the Methodist Church in Severy, Kansas.  Dale was a member of the Bowling Association and a multi-time Water Board President.  He was an avid gardener, loved flowers, photography, bird watchingn, and all his grandkids.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Crismas of the home; his children, Bryan Crismas of Terrell, Texas, Teresa (John) Smart of Independence, Kansas, and Alison (Joe) Carroll of Independence, Kasnas; grandchildren, Dane (Chelsea) Crismas, Brooke Crismas, Marcus Lewis, Quincy Freeman, Eleanor Grace Carroll, Byron Carroll, Genevieve Carroll, and Ulysses Carroll; and a brother, James Crismas of Humboldt, Kansas.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Alva Clinton Crismas; his sister, Frances Talamantes; a granddaughter, Amanda Lewis; and a sister-in-law, Linda Crismas.

A Celebration of Life graveside service was held on February 1, 2022 at the Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, Kanss with Rev. Bill Boone officiating.  A memorial has been established to the Cancer Center of Kansas and remembrances may be sent to the funeral home.  Service arrangements were entrusted to Zach Webb Family Funeral Service, 1475 S. 10th Street, ndependence, Kansas 67301.
