Ann Marie (Robertson) Mize, age 75, of Severy, Kansas, passed away November 16, 2021 at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, Kansas.  She was born October 13, 1946 in Eureka, Kansas to Clifford and Betty (Bauder) Robertson.  She grew up in Howard, Kansas alongside two brothers, and she graduated from Howard High School with the Class of 1964.

As a young lady, Ann met a young man at Charlie's Cafe who came to her table with a friend and started a conversation.  It was an instant connection, and on October 13, 1967, she married Lyle Mize, that same young man.  They shared 54 years together and raised three daughters.  They spent most of their years living in Severy, Kansas. 

Ann worked in the Elk County Clerk's office in Howard, Kansas and served as the Deputy County Clerk.  She was active in the Severy Baptist Church, helping with Vacation Bible School, and she was the church treasurer for about 40 years.  She enjoyed flower gardening, sharing pictures of nature with her kids and grandkids, and going to the movies with Lyle.  She had a talent for crocheting that she shared with her family and an occasional charity.  She brought yarn with her whenever she left town and refused to make the same thing twice.  Ann was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She cherished her children and grandchildren and will be missed by all of her family and friends.

Ann is survived by her husband, Lyle Mize; her daughters, Rebecca (Kendall) Harrell of Cincinnati, Ohio, Regina (Mark) Hall of Tirana, Albania, and Valerie (John) Duncan of Cincinnati, Ohio; her grandchildren, Piper Harrell, Kenleigh Harrell, Jesse Hall, Seth Hall, Leah Hall, Anne Hall, Broderic Duncan,  Zachary Duncan, Matthew Duncan, and Eli Duncan; and her brother, Melvin Robertson of Howard, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Neighl Robertson.

Funeral services for Ann will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Severy Baptist Church in Severy, Kansas.  Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery in Severy, Kansas.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Severy Baptist Church and can be mailed to or left with he funeral home.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
