Ellis Max Waggoner, age 87, of Miami, Oklahoma, passed away August 18, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.  He was born on June 26, 1934 in Madison, Kansas, the son of Lanco Forrest and Erma (Tharp) Waggoner.

Ellis was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.  He worked for the Federal Aviation Administration as a Radar Electronic Technician, retiring after 35 years of service.

Ellis is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Waggoner of the home; two sons, Kenneth (Colleen) Waggoner of Texas and Ron (Cindy) Koppelman, Jr. of Missouri; two daughters, Julie (Tim) Stone of Wyandotte, Oklahoma and Cheryl (Gary) Juby of Sperry, Oklahoma; and a sister, Rhea Brown of Texas.  Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Blaine Waggoner and Jack Wggoner.

A Celebration of Life Service was held on August 23, 2021 at the First Assembly of God Church in Miami, Oklahoma.  Graveside service and burial will take place at the Piedmont Cemetery in Piedmont, Kansas on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 10:30 a.m.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, Oklahoma.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.paulthomasfuneralhomes.com.
