Thomas Gene "Tom" Tuck, age 80, of Longton, Kansas, passed away September 2, 2020 at Labette Health in Independence, Kansas.  He was born November 10, 1939 at the home place in rural Longton to William and Iva (Farnsworth) Tuck.  Tom was raised alongside one brother and two sisters.  He attended a country school in Elk County, Kansas through 8th grade.

On February 27, 1957, Tom married Nancy Josephine Corle.  They raised four children together and were marred 57 years until her passing in January 2015.  They lived in Elk County all their lives including the towns of Elk Falls, Moline, and Longton.  Tom was a heavy equipment mechanic and operator and worked in the Martin-Marietta rock quarry for over 35 years.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing when he could, but he spent most of his spare time looking after his cattle.

Tom is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Jerry) Denney of Cimarron, Kansas; his sons, Thomas (Melody) Tuck of Elk City, Kansas, Terry (Sandy) Tuck of Elk Falls, Kansas, and Kevin Tuck and Janet Cox of Fredonia, Kansas; his sister, Betty Corle of Coffeyville, Kansas; his grandchildren, Serena and Ben Kill of Longton, Kansas, Tony Tuck of Kansas City, Kansas, and Thaddeus Tuck of Bentonville, Arkansas; and a great-grandchild, Braden.  Tom was preceded in death by his parents, William and iva Tuck; his wife, Nancy; his sister, Iva Walker; and his brother, William Jackson Tuck.

Memorial service for Tom will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Elk Falls Cemetery in Elk Falls, Kansas.  Memorial contributions in Tom's name can be made to Calvary Chapel of Elk Falls and can be mailed to or left with the funeral home.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
