Take a look at this.  The website is worth the read.  Especially if you generally get your news from the rumor mill in Elk County. (Click on the image to enlarge)

Good Job nykkelsdymes! It's about time someone put up something with the REAL TRUTH! Personally, there is much more that Doug does than is listed on the website but this lets people know some FACTS! Great man! He has our vote!--Robert and Jennifer Walker

Thank you nykkelsdymes! Excellent website. Honest living from a modest man, unlike the alternative.

Just in case some hairsplitter asks....

Since this movement appears to be grass roots, I contacted Commissioner Ritz and asked him if he would accept the position if re-elected.  He said he would gladly, without reservation.

That being the case....

For 2014...
Write in Doug Ritz,
Elk County District 1 Commissioner
Conservative to the Core!
Gun control means never having to fire twice.
Social engineering, left OR right usually ends in a train wreck.

Thanks, Patriot, for asking Mr. Ritz whether he wanted the job. I know it was a major concern in Delaware but around here where people actually know him, we know that he is the perfect man for the job! Doug has his act together and his life is like an open book. Thank you for not writing grants for personal, special interest groups. Thank you for not having under the table, backhanded, behind closed door, dealings. Thank you for not being a Republican In Name Only (RINO). Thank you for not "needing" armed sheriff deputies at county commission meetings.  Thank you for not making a fuss about anyone who would tape record or video tape any public meeting you would hold. It's nice to know that the honest people don't worry about being taped.

It's nice to know that we have a lifetime resident who has made his home and livelihood in Elk County; who has high moral values, being married to the same woman for many, many years; that is a true Republican Conservative without socialist agendas in mind. Thank you Mr. Ritz for the hard work you have done and the hard work you will continue to do in the future!--Robert

Why would any of you listen to the naysayers about Shari Kaminski. Look at who the people are, all negative types against women. Shari is sharp, educated and her husbands family are prominent, sucessful landowners and ranchers, she will do a great job, give her the chance. Consider the people against her.
Ross is always negative about everything's look at the lies he told about the West Elk school board and about Howard and the location of the school, the facts on that are the school was between the 3 schools that it was replacing, the water supply, sewer, Dr and all necessities were right there.
I have family and friends in Elk County and they will be working hard to help Shari. Doug was defeated before and he should be again.

Why would anyone listen to a family relative of a politician and expect that family member to be without familial bias?

Is there a coherent, relative or grammatically correct thought in there somewhere?

...I think Ross is just against women being successful at anything...

Just who really has the sexist obsession here?  Or, given your total of 6 posts that are basically personal attacks on posters... why can't you stay on topic without the personal assaults on the 1st amendment rights of those who are NOT seeking a government office?  Seems to me the subject is (or should be) about politics & political office seekers.  Talk about negativity!

But will they be taking the real needs of Elk County and ALL of the residents here into consideration as they 'help' her?

Doug was defeated before and he should be again.

Now that was a valid personal opinion... thanks for your views.

But remember, a primary is NOT an election to office.  It represents ONLY the limited responses of the most active members of a political party or, in this case, family & friends.  Historically, primary results, especially in low turnout mid-terms, do NOT necessarily demonstrate any kind of mandate or the overall view of the electorate.  Yes, Ritz was defeated in the Republican primary.  That does not necessarily mean he was defeated as Commissioner for the position of Elk County District 1 Commissioner.  I will gladly vote for his record over the last 4 years and re-election.

I would hardly call an interest in Doug Ritz a major concern anywhere else, let alone Delaware.
What will you do if your write in backfires? I was just interested in whether anyone even asked the man if he wanted to try again since he lost the primary. See? Once someone asked him, said he would take it. Good information.
It's a shame some didn't work hard enough to get him elected in the first place. If he was so great he shoud have won easily. But he didn't. Insulting the voters who voted for the other candidate surely can't be a sound way of changing people's minds. Where was all that "new" information the first time around?
As far as Delaware is concerned, some of you never miss a chance to make a smary comments about where I live...with no ties to here what so ever! I at least have friends and family in Elk County and have been there many times. Some of you with the nasty attitudes don't even know where Delaware is. I doubt any of you have ever been here. Why should you have any opinions about here?

Yes, it is a shame that we are having to do a write-in to retain Mr. Ritz. If more people would take their civic duty more seriously and get out and VOTE, I doubt we would be having this conversation. I have talked to several people who didn't think there was any threat to Mr. Ritz losing the primary, that they just stayed home that day. It's something we see more and more of. People get comfortable with how things are and don't do anything to keep them that way. The information we are giving voters is not NEW, Diane. This information is FACTUAL. We are just refreshing peoples' minds.

With that being said, I hope everyone will get out and vote November 4th. Prove that you care about Elk County and the people in it. It's NOT a popularity contest. Vote for honesty, integrity and family values! Vote for Doug Ritz!

Yes, being too comfortable that a candidate will be a shoe- in can cost. It has happened here too. It will be interesting to see what happens there this time. At least you can do a write in as you choose. Not every government allows that.
