Wanda Nadine Fickle, age 95, of Howard, Kansas, passed away March 21, 2024 at Alderbrook Village in Arkansas City, Kansas.  She was born on June 7, 1928 to Allen Loyd Sr. and Mary Gertrude "Gertie" (Weyrauch) Loyd.

Nadine married Bruce Dale Fickle Sr. on January 21, 1950, and together they had seven children.  While the children were still in the home, Nadine was an amazing mother and homemaker. She was a great cook, and most of the food she prepared was canned from their own garden.  She later became Clerk of the District Court in Howard, Kansas where she worked for 24 years and later retired. 

Nadine loved dancing with Bruce and going to the horse races.  She and Bruce were married for 66 years before he passed away on April 20, 2016.  Nadine was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was always devoted to her family.  She will be forever remembered and always in our hearts.

Nadine is survived by her children, Raymond "Lynn" (Pam) Fickle, Randy (Tamara) Fickle, Karen Gibson, Richard (Angie) Fickle, and Sharon Moore; her sister, Mary Ellen (Sonny) Burch; and her grandchildren, Cristy, Josh, Garrett, Seth, Logan, Ryan, and Jaryd; and 8 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bruce; two sons, Charles Thomas Fickle and Bruce Dale Fickle, Jr.; and her son-in-law, Don Moore.

A Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moline, Kansas.  Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.  The family will be holding visitation from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. prior to the service.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Moline, Kansas.  A memorial has been established for the St. Mary's Altar Society and may be left with or mailed to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349 which has been entrusted with arrangements.
