Also known as Sadie Hawkins Day.

A special day for us, because in 1972, I wrote a short poem and asked my Jim to marry me.

Hooray!

Took some pictures this morning - Feb. 6, 2016. The new Dollar General store and the old school building. It is, as you can tell, completely down. Jerry Harrod was working on it when I drove by.

Enjoy :)

The Coffee Shop / West Elk Scholars Bowl
« on: January 30, 2016, 01:10:35 PM »
The West Elk Scholars Bowl team will travel to Herrington Thursday, Feb. 4, to compete in Regional Play.

Both the Varsity and the Junior Varsity teams placed first in league play - South Central Border League.

I'd name the members of the teams, but I'm not sure I would get them all right, so I'll check Monday at school and post them later.

Linda Shilts-Baum is the team sponsor.

The Coffee Shop / House Fire

One of the casualties of the no-electricity day was the house of Ryan and Rachel (nee Green) Harrod. It burned during the night. They were not at home, having left because of the electrical outage.
