I went to the treasurer's office today to buy tags. Had a really nice visit with the 2 young ladies that work there. Great paint job on the comissioner's room floor and the floor in front of the counters of the treasurer's office and the county clerk's office. Things were looking really good until I saw the shelf on the north wall of the treasurer's office that held a coffee pot. It was crooked. Oh my gosh. It about drove me crazy looking at it. Please, Joe, fix it. Thanks.

Rita Jeane Zellner, a longtime resident of Howard, Kansas, passed away in Andover, Kansas on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at the age of 84.  The daughter of Leonard Martin and Vera Stevens Martin, Jeane was born on April 4, 1929 in Beeler, Kansas.

After graduating high school, she attended college in Garden City, Kansas and earned her degree as a registered nurse. She was united in marriage to Ray Zellner in Garden City, Kansas on July 9, 1950.  Jeane was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eureka and was the church organist for years. She belonged to the Loyal Lima's, helped locally with Harry Hynes Hospice, and read to residents in the nursing home.

Jeane is survived by sons, Tim Zellner and wife, Joyce of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Kelley Zellner and wife, Carolyn of Humboldt, Kansas, and Mark Zellner and wife, Debbie of Howard, Kansas;  a daughter, Julie McConnell and husband Terry of Independence, Kansas; brothers, Dean Martin and wife, Avis of Sacramento, California, and Richard Martin and wife, Sherry (deceased) of Sacramento, California; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ray.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 10, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eureka, Kansas. Rosary will be prayed prior to Mass at 10:00 a.m., with Father Steven Gronert officiating. Burial will be on Tuesday June 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in Pilot Point Texas. Family suggests memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Harry Hynes Hospice and may be left with the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Countryside–Zimmerman Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas.

Politics / Elk County Commissioners doing changes

I was told that the Elk County Commissioners are doing lots of changes. I have heard that Mr. Hebb has said he was going to "clean out the courthouse". I have heard that Mr. Ritz doesn't care if we have an ambulance service or not.

Wow. If these are these changes that the commissioners are going to do, I'm pretty sure it is not a good thing.

Commissioners need to remember that they are elected officials just as the sheriff, the county clerk, the county treasurer, and the county register of deeds are elected officials.

All county elected officials should be aware that there is a law called, "Official misconduct" K.S.A. 21-3902.

Commissioners are guided by law of their duties by Kansas statute 19-212: Powers of board of commissioners. The board of county commissioners of each county shall have the power, at any meeting:
      First. To make such orders concerning the property belonging to the county as they may deem expedient, including the establishing of regulations, by resolution, as to the use of such property and to prescribe penalties for violations thereof.

     Second. To examine and settle all accounts of the receipts and expenses of the county, and to examine and settle and allow all accounts chargeable against the county; and when so settled, they may issue county orders therefor, as provided by law.

     Third. To purchase sites for and to build and keep in repair county buildings, and cause the same to be insured in the name of the county treasurer for the benefit of the county; and in case there are no county buildings, to provide suitable rooms for county purposes.

     Fourth. To purchase an existing building and the site upon which it is located for the purpose of providing additional space for county offices and to remodel and equip the same.

     Fifth. Apportion and order the levying of taxes as provided by law.

     Sixth. To represent the county and have the care of the county property, and the management of the business and concerns of the county, in all cases where no other provision is made by law.

     Seventh. To set off, organize, and change the boundaries of townships in their respective counties, to designate and give names therefor, and to appoint township officers for such new townships which officers shall serve until the next general election; to fix time and place of holding the first election therein.

     Eighth. To establish one or more election precincts in any township, as the convenience of the inhabitants thereof may require.

     Ninth. To lay out, alter or discontinue any road running through one or more townships in such county, and also to perform such other duties respecting roads as may be provided by law.

     Tenth. To enter into contracts with any landowners for the construction and maintenance of underpasses, bridges and drainageways under and across any county road in connection with the locating, opening, laying out, construction or alteration of any county road running across or through such landowner's land, whenever in the judgment of the board of county commissioners such contract is to the best interests of the county. Any such contract entered into by the board of county commissioners shall be binding upon subsequent boards of county commissioners and shall not be terminated without the written consent of said landowner or his heirs or assigns.

     Eleventh. To contract for the protection and promotion of the public health and welfare.

     Twelfth. To acquire, own and operate a county airport.

     Thirteenth. To perform such other duties as are or may be prescribed by law.

Commissioners need to pay attention to their own office and let the other elected officials do their job. The commissioners need to be well-versed on the wage and hour laws and on FLSA which is the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Jerry Ray Allen, age 76, a resident of rural Howard, Kansas, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at his home. He was born in Sedgwick County, Kansas on January 17, 1937, the son of Arthur and Fanny (Milton) Allen.

On July 20, 1978 Jerry was united in marriage to Norma J. Criger. Jerry was a lifelong rancher who loved working with his horses and cattle. He raised and trained many colts throughout his working years. Jerry was a member of the Kansas Rifle Association, NRA, AQHA and Farm Bureau. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Norma Allen of Howard, Kansas; two sons, John Borst and Scott Borst and his wife Leanna all of Pratt, Kansas; one daughter, Cindy Borst of Great Bend, Kansas;  one step-son, Dan Harrison and his wife, Carla of Haysville, Kansas; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wayne Allen; and two sisters, Pauline Young and Lorrine Cowell.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2013 at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, Kansas. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Family suggests contributions be made to the Harry Hynes Hospice and may be left with the funeral home. Online condolence may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com. The fire sirens went off in Howard just before 7:00 p.m. A house on N. Wabash is fully engulfed in flames. I have no idea whose house or anything. Just reporting what I heard.

The Good Old Days / Flash from the past in Severy

Today, all of a sudden, my thoughts drifted to my hometown of Severy. I thought about the old lumberyard that I think was called Gibbons Lumberyard. I also thought about a small cafe just south of the lumberyard across the street. Does anyone remember these buildings? What was the name of the little cafe? Also, does anyone have pictures of these two buildings? If you do, could you post them on the forum?

The only reason that I think these came up in my thoughts is because my sister, Jean, and I drove through Severy on Saturday, drove down Main Street, went by Grandma Furrow's old place ( that isn't there anymore), went by our old house south of the school. It is in sad shape. Went by several other family homes that we knew. Went by Uncle Bob and Aunt Cleo's house. Lots and lots of memories.

Anyway, if anyone knows what I am talking about, I would appreciate the info.

Oh yeah. One more. Does anyone have a picture of Mary and Gene's drive in that was at the junction? Patti and I worked there for several summers.

Peter M. Laughlin, 75, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012.  Rosary will be Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. and funeral mass will be Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., both at Church of the Magdalen, 12626 E. 21st St. N., Wichita, Kansas. 

He is survived by his mother, Catherine Laughlin; wife, Carolyn; five daughters, Deborah Laughlin, Linda (Dave) Keller, Diane Sanchez, Kelly (Barry) Cooper, and Brenda Stoner; six grandchildren,  Amy Harvey, Bryan Harvey, Jeff Penachio, Lauren Sanchez, Victoria Cooper and Casey Stoner; and brother, Robert (Vilma).  He is preceded in death by his father, Francis O. Laughlin. A memorial has been established in his name with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, 67202. The American Medical Association has weighed in on Obama's new health care package. The Allergists were in favor of scratching it, but the Dermatologists advised not to make any rash moves. The Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling about it, but the Neurologists thought the Administration had a lot of nerve. Meanwhile, Obstetricians felt certain everyone was laboring under a misconception, while the Ophthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted. Pathologists yelled, "Over my dead body!" while the Pediatricians said, "Oh, grow up !" The Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness, while the Radiologists could see right through it. Surgeons decided to wash their hands of the whole thing & the Internists claimed it would indeed be a bitter pill to swallow. The Plastic Surgeons opined that this proposal would "put a whole new face on the matter". The Podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but the Urologists were pissed off at the whole idea. Anesthesiologists thought the whole idea was a gas, and those lofty Cardiologists didn't have the heart to say no. In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision up to the a**holes in Washington.

Stephen Rhea "Steve" Knox of Piedmont, Kansas, died on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, Kansas at the age of 62.  Steve was born on October 5, 1949 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Robert and Mildred (Rhea) Knox.  

He was raised in Piedmont, graduating high school in Severy, Kansas.  After his schooling, Steve attended the College of Emporia. In college he played baseball and football.  He also worked for IBP Processing and on the family ranch.  He later worked for Kote and KFDI radio as a DJ.  Steve also drove a school bus in Eureka.  He was a volunteer Fire Chief in Piedmont and had his own fireworks company called Children of the Night Fireworks.  He worked at Boeing for several years including being assigned to work on Air Force One before his retirement.  

On February 14, 1974 he was united in marriage to Vickie F. Fife in Severy, Kansas.  This marriage later ended in divorce.  He was a member of the Piedmont Christian Church, Masonic Lodge #155,  the Western Music Association of Kansas, and the National Fireworks Association.

He is survived by four children:  Stephanie Sampson of Goddard, Kansas, Robie Bartolotta of Genessee Depot, Wisconsin,  Robert M. Knox II of Eureka, Kansas, and Daniel Knox of Eureka, Kansas;  nine grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and one brother, Murray Knox of Piedmont, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Koup Family Funeral Home, 121 N. Oak Street, Eureka, Kansas.  Interment will follow at Piedmont Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Masonic Lodge #155.  Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.

Lester Eugene "Buster" Moore, age 55, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.
He was born on September 16, 1956 to Paul M. Moore and Margaret Elizabeth (Kirchner) Moore in Sedan, Kansas.  

He was raised in Chautauqua County and attended school in Cedar Vale, Kansas.  He lived most of his life in and around Chautauqua County.  He worked for many years as a truck driver for Frank Bills Trucking Company in Severy, Kansas.  He also worked as a rancher.  He enjoyed horses and playing pool.

He is survived by five sons: Chad and wife Shelly Moore of Bridgeport, Texas, Heath and Vickie Moore of Rome, Texas, Jason and wife Amy Jacot of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, Justin Moore of Parsons, Kansas, and Dustin Moore of Sedan, Kansas; one daughter, Kimberly Baird of North Carolina; five brothers:  Jim Moore of Sedan, Kansas, Howard W. and wife Christine Moore of Copper Cove, Texas, Alvin Moore of Sedan, Kansas, Gerald  and wife Debbie Moore of Neodesha, Kansas, and Norman Moore of Emporia, Kansas; and several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Earl Moore, and his parents.

Graveside services will be Friday, June 22, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Chautauqua, Kansas.  Friends may call on Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan, Kansas.

I had a dream last night and I want to ask if you all think I should be worried.

I dreamed that I was chasing a man, trying to arrest him for something. We were driving down extremely muddy county roads. I couldn't catch the guy, so I stopped my car and got out. I immediately sank into the mud. I mean sank. I got myself out, but the mud kept my clothes. I did have boots on. Here I am, standing in the middle of this muddy county road and here comes the man in his car. He almost runs me down, but a mudhole sucks him under. He gets out and I handcuff him. This man looks just like the actor Gerard Butler, who played in "The Bounty Hunter" with Jennifer Aniston and "The Ugly Truth" with Katherine Heigl.

After I get the man handcuffed, his girlfriend walks up to us and tries to give him a kiss. I tell her to go on, what did she think she was doing and who did she think she was. She left.

Ok. So, here we go into the jail. Lots of prisoners walking around and lots of trustees in the control room. They just stare at us. I don't know if it is because I am naked or because I had a man in handcuffs. Well, the man got booked into the jail and I am just standing there.

The next thing I know, a blonde headed woman, a prisoner, is calling for me to come sit down with her at a round table. I sit down with her, (and yes, I am still naked), and she says to me, "Did you know that his (meaning the man I arrested), girlfriend was from New York?"

Now, for the question about should I be worried. Does this dream mean I should be worried about arresting a man who looks like Gerard Butler or should I be worried that these county roads have mud holes so deep that the mud holes will swallow a car?

ROFLMBO (meaning rolling on the floor laughing my butt off).

Just had to share that dream.

Shirley Ann Lakin, age 76, of Coffeyville Kansas, passed away Sunday March 4, 2012 in her home with her family at her side. She was born in Severy, Kansas on January 2, 1936, to Loren Veral and Helena Hurt.

Shirley attended Severy schools, graduating from Severy High School in 1953.  She married Rex Lakin in 1952, who preceded her in death April 28th, 2001.

Shirley was a member of the First United Methodist church and later attended the First Nazarene Church in Coffeyville. She was noted for her beautiful hand stitched quilts. Shirley worked in their family restaurant in Severy, Kansas. Later she worked at Delray in Chanute, Kansas. She worked closely with her husband Rex remodeling homes. Shirley accompanied Rex on weekends playing music and enjoyed bowling in her spare time.

She is survived by sisters, Margaret and husband, Bob McLean of Eureka Kansas, Wilma and husband, Walter Dean of Texas;  sons, Brent Lakin of Coffeyville Kansas and Brian Lakin of Tulsa Oklahoma; grandchildren, Toni,whom she raised, Shane, Jeremy, Justin, and Ashley; and great grandchildren, Keenon, Amanda, Hannah, Malachy, Cameryn, Isaac, Bentley, Skyland, Ryder, Elecia, Jayden, Xavier, and Aries.

Memorial services for Shirley will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Nazarene Church of Coffeyville, Kansas.  Burial will be in Severy, Kansas.  The family suggests memorials to the Terry C. Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University.  Contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.

Who Is George Soros? He brought the market down in 2 days. Here is what CBS' Mr. Steve Kroft's research has turned up. It's a bit of a read, and it took 4 months to put it together. "The main obstacle to a stable and just world order is the United States." George Soros

George Soros is an evil man. He's anti-God, anti-family, anti-American, and anti-good." He killed and robbed his own Jewish people. What we have in Soros, is a multi-billionaire atheist, with skewed moral values, and a sociopath's lack of conscience. He considers himself to be an elitist World class philosopher, despises the American way, and just loves to do social engineering and change cultures.

György Schwartz, better known to the world as George Soros, was born August 12, 1930 in Hungary. Soros' father, Tivadar, was a fervent practitioner of the Esperanto language invented in 1887, and designed to be the first global language, free of any national identity. The Schwartz's, who were non-practicing Jews, changed the family name to Soros, in order to facilitate assimilation into the Gentile population, as the Nazis spread into Hungary during the 1930s.

When Hitler's henchman Adolf Eichmann arrived in Hungary to oversee the murder of that country's Jews, George Soros ended up with a man whose job was confiscating property from the Jewish population. Soros went with him on his rounds.

Soros has repeatedly called 1944 "the best year of his life." 70% of Mr. Soros's fellow Jews in Hungary, nearly a half-million human beings, were annihilated in that year, yet he gives no sign that this put any damper on his elation, either at the time or indeed in retrospect. During an interview with "Sixty Minute's" Steve Kroft, Soros was asked about his "best year."

KROFT: My understanding is that you went out with this protector of yours who swore that you were his adopted godson. SOROS: Yes. Yes.
KROFT: Went out, in fact, and helped in the confiscation of property from your fellow Jews, friends and neighbors. SOROS: Yes. That's right. Yes.
KROFT: I mean, that sounds like an experience that would send lots of people to the psychiatric couch for many, many, years. Was it difficult? SOROS: No, not at all. Not at all, I rather enjoyed it.
KROFT: No feelings of guilt? SOROS: No, only feelings of absolute power.

In his article, Muravchik describes how Soros has admitted to having carried some rather "potent messianic fantasies with me from childhood, which I felt I had to control, otherwise they might get me in trouble." Be that as it may..... After WWII, Soros attended the London School of Economics, where he fell under the thrall of fellow atheist and Hungarian, Karl Popper, one of his professors. Popper was a mentor to Soros until Popper's death in 1994. Two of Popper's most influential teachings concerned "the open society," and Fallibilism. Fallibilism is the philosophical doctrine that all claims of knowledge could, in principle, be mistaken. (Then again, I could be wrong about that.) The "open society" basically refers to a "test and evaluate" approach to social engineering. Regarding "open society" Roy Childs writes, "Since the Second World War, most of the Western democracies have followed Popper's advice about piecemeal social engineering and democratic social reform, and it has gotten them into a grand mess."

In 1956 Soros moved to New York City, where he worked on Wall Street, and started amassing his fortune. He specialized in hedge funds and currency speculation. Soros is absolutely ruthless, amoral, and clever in his business dealings, and quickly made his fortune. By the 1980s he was well on his way to becoming the global powerhouse that he is today.

In an article Kyle-Anne Shiver wrote for "The American Thinker" she says, "Soros made his first billion in 1992 by shorting the British pound with leveraged billions in financial bets, and became known as the man who broke the Bank of England. He broke it on the backs of hard-working British citizens who immediately saw their homes severely devalued and their life savings cut drastically, almost overnight."

In 1994 Soros crowed in "The New Republic" that "the former Soviet Empire is now called the Soros Empire." The Russia-gate scandal in 1999, which almost collapsed the Russian economy, was labeled by Rep. Jim Leach, then head of the House Banking Committee, to be "one of the greatest social robberies in human history. The "Soros Empire" indeed. In 1997 Soros almost destroyed the economies of Thailand and Malaysia. At the time, Malaysia 's Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohammad, called Soros "a villain, and a moron." Thai activist Weng Tojirakarn said, "We regard George Soros as a kind of Dracula. He sucks the blood from the people."

The website Greek National Pride reports, "Soros was part of the full court press that dismantled Yugoslavia and caused trouble in Georgia, Ukraine and Myanmar [Burma]. Calling himself a philanthropist, Soros' role is to tighten the ideological stranglehold of globalization and the New World Order while promoting his own financial gain. He is without conscience; a capitalist who functions with absolute amorality."

France has upheld an earlier conviction against Soros, for felony insider trading. Soros was fined 2.9 million dollars. Recently, his native Hungary fined Soros 2.2 million dollars for "illegal market manipulation." Elizabeth Crum writes that the Hungarian economy has been in a state of transition as the country seeks to become more financially stable and westernized. Soros deliberately driving down the share price of its largest bank put Hungary's economy into a wicked tailspin, one from which it is still trying to recover.

My point here is that Soros is a planetary parasite. His grasp, greed, and gluttony have a global reach. But what about America? Soros told Australia's national newspaper The Australian "America, as the centre of the globalised financial markets, was sucking up the savings of the world. This is now over. The game is out," he said, adding that the time has come for "a very serious adjustment" in American's consumption habits. He implied that he was the one with the power to bring this about."

Obama has recently promised 10 billion of our tax dollars to Brazil, in order to give them a leg-up in expanding their offshore oil fields. Obama's largesse towards Brazil came shortly after his political financial backer, George Soros, invested heavily in Brazilian oil (Pet rob ras). Tait Trussel writes, "The Pet rob ras loan may be a windfall for Soros and Brazil, but it is a bad deal for the U. S. The American Petroleum Institute estimates that oil exploration in the U S could create 160,000 new, well-paying jobs, as well as $1.7 trillion in revenues to federal, state, and local governments, all while fostering greater energy security and independence."

Back to America. Soros has been actively working to destroy America from the inside out for some years now. People have been warning us. Two years ago, news sources reported that "Soros [is] an extremist who wants open borders, a one-world foreign policy, legalized drugs, euthanasia, and on and on. This is off-the-chart dangerous." In 1997 Rachel Ehrenfeld wrote, "Soros uses his philanthropy to change or more accurately deconstruct the moral values and attitudes of the Western world, and particularly of the American people. His "open society" is not about freedom; it is about license. His vision rejects the notion of ordered liberty, in favor of a PROGRESSIVE ideology of rights and entitlements."

Perhaps the most important of these "whistle blowers" are David Horowitz and Richard Poe. Their book "The Shadow Party" outlines in detail how Soros hijacked the Democrat Party, and now owns it lock, stock, and barrel. Soros has been packing the Democrat Party with radicals, and ousting moderate Democrats for years. The Shadow Party became the Shadow Government, which recently became the Obama Administration.

Discover The Networks.org (another good source) writes, "By his [Soros'] own admission, he helped engineer coups in Slovakia, Croatia, Georgia, and Yugoslavia. When Soros targets a country for "regime change" he begins by creating a shadow government, a fully-formed government-in-exile, ready to assume power when the opportunity arises. The Shadow Party he has built in America greatly resembles those he has created in other countries prior to instigating a coup."

The November 2008 edition of the German magazine "Der Spiegel" in which Soros gives his opinion on what the next POTUS (President of the U. S.) should do after taking office. "I think we need a large stimulus package." Soros thought that around 600 billion would be about right. Soros also said that "I think Obama presents us a great opportunity to finally deal with global warming and energy dependence. The U. S. needs a cap-and-trade system with auctioning of licenses for emissions rights." Although Soros doesn't (yet) own the Republican Party, like he does the Democrats, make no mistake, his tentacles are spread throughout the Republican Party as well.

Soros is a partner in the Carlyle Group where he has invested more than 100 million dollars. According to an article by "The Baltimore Chronicle's" Alice Cherbonnier, the Carlyle Group is run by "a veritable who's who of former Republican leaders," from CIA man Frank Carlucci, to CIA head and ex-President George Bush, Sr. In late 2006, Soros bought about 2 million shares of Halliburton, Dick Cheney's old stomping grounds. When the Democrats and Republicans held their conventions in 2000, Soros held Shadow Party conventions in the same cities, at the same time. In 2008, Soros donated $5,000,000,000 (that's Five Billion!) to the Democrat National Committee, DNC, to insure Obama's win and wins for many other Alinsky-trained Radical Rules Anti-American Socialist. George Soros has been contributing a $ billion plus to the DNC since Clinton came on the scene.

Soros has dirtied both sides of the aisle, trust me. And if that weren't bad enough, he has long-held connections with the CIA. And I mustn't forget to mention Soros' involvement with the MSM (Main Stream Media), the entertainment industry (e.g., he owns 2.6 million shares of Time Warner), and the various political advertising organizations he funnels millions to. In short, George Soros controls or influences most of the MSM. Little wonder they ignore the TEA PARTY, Soro's NEMESIS.

As Matthew Vadum writes, "The liberal billionaire-turned-philanthropist has been buying up media properties for years in order to drive home his message to the American public that they are too materialistic, too wasteful, too selfish, and too stupid to decide for themselves how to run their own lives."

Richard Poe writes, "Soros' private philanthropy, totaling nearly $5 billion, continues undermining America 's traditional Western values. His giving has provided funding of abortion rights, atheism, drug legalization, sex education, euthanasia, feminism, gun control, globalization, mass immigration, gay marriage and other radical experiments in social engineering."

Poe continues, "Through his global web of Open Society Institutes and Open Society Foundations, Soros has spent 25 years recruiting, training, indoctrinating and installing a network of loyal operatives in 50 countries, placing them in positions of influence and power in media, government, finance and academia."

Without Soros' money, would the Saul Alinsky's Chicago machine still be rolling? Would SEIU, ACORN, and La Raza still be pursuing their nefarious activities? Would Big Money and lobbyists still be corrupting government? Would our college campuses still be retirement homes for 1960s radicals?

America stands at the brink of an abyss, and that fact is directly attributable to Soros. Soros has vigorously, cleverly, and insidiously planned the ruination of America and his puppet, Barack Obama is leading the way.

The words of Patrick Henry are apropos: "Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, almighty God! I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death!"
