I am very surprised there are no posts concerning the possibilities of future changes in the West Elk schools due to declining enrollment.  Since I don't live in the area any more, I don't know what the general feelings are on this subject.  Would those who have an opinion on this subject step up and voice your opinion.

Boy do we need Waldo's Barber Shop back.  There would be plenty of opinions being tossed around there.

Having abandoned the small town life for the city over 40 years ago, I still long for and enjoy the quietness of the small town.  If I was only smart enough to learn how to make a living in the small town.  O well, retirement is coming.  Maybe then.

I too am thankful for those who donate their time and efforts to put on a community Thanksgiving Dinner.  My dad, who is now deceased, used to love going to the school for the dinner.  Having grown up around Howard even though he had lived in Moline for the last 55+ years of his life,  he got to visit with old friends and thoroughly enjoyed himself.  Thanks again for having this dinner and bringing old friends and new together.
