Politics / Political Opinions from the East Coast
August 14, 2015, 09:47:11 AM
I guess since Ross has decided what is political and what is not ,I'll start a new thread about my east coast opinions. I don't consider everything political that he does, but since he thinks he knows about all things political, I'll go along with it. For some reason he thinks he has to follow me where ever I go. Be warned this might not be pretty!.
Now where was I . 8)  Oh, yes, Ross ridiculed me again on my/the  east coast site when he pretended he didn't know what I was talking about. He said some weird thing about "four face book."sic. He does get so agitated sometimes, perhaps he really doesn't remember what he writes...so the easy way out it is to deny it and call me a liar. Here it is.
He was complaining about Elk Konnected AGAIN and ridiculing me over it.
#599... "You also had the members log into four personal face book." Sic  Would any of you know what that meant? I sure didn't. He never did understand what EK was trying to do and resented it/them from the beginning. Is any of this important today? I don't think so, but even after all this time, he's still stuck on it.
When I have more time I will look up those posts of his from 'way back again and put them on here. He doesn't think I'll actually do it, but why should I protect him? Let him stew for a change. Maybe we should pick them all apart word by word and make up critiques of every detail that might be wrong with them. No? Nah, I didn't think so either.
I have never gone so low as to let him have it as rudely as I could have. My Kansas upbringing and my
Christianity won't let me do that. He has handed me opportunities on platters many times, but I won't take advantage of them, as my friends out there know that I wouldn't.
It gets old doesn't it? I think so too.  Enough for now. We'll see what happens next. Friday used to always be complaint day, so I've even done this the correct day! HA!
This "independent- centrist- leaning- toward -libertarian," (or so say all those fun political label quizzes) signing off. Chuckle, chuckle. If squabbling politics isn't your thing, perhaps this isn't what you want to read.

The Coffee Shop / What makes you happy?
July 12, 2014, 07:26:01 AM
Right now what makes me happy is a nice thick slice of sun warmed fresh garden tomato, a touch of sea salt,  a fresh basil leaf, a nice slice of sweet Vidalia onion and Miracle Whip on 12 grain bread. Yum ! How about you?

A new Haiku.....  Loss of Self and Center

   For what do we cry?
   For the inner sunshine, gone.
   Friends crouch low, hiding.

The Coffee Shop / It's Fire Prevention Week
October 06, 2013, 08:18:41 AM
Let's pay attention to what's happening in the kitchen. "Preventing Kitchen Fires" is this year's national theme. Kitchen fires are the leading cause of home fires in the US. Distractions while cooking cause many of them. Bad cords and faulty appliances cause some also. Can you share some fire safety tips?  Check that smoke detector.  Feed it a new battery at least once a year and replace the whole unit every 9-10 years. Be sure your kids know what you want them to do in case of a fire. Stay safe out there!

The Coffee Shop / East Coast Happenings
March 22, 2013, 01:21:17 PM
You can thank Jane for this new thread.
We've been following UD basketball more than usual this year, especially the girls that have a real rocket team. They won the local championships and go on to the big deal seeded number 6.They play West Virgina here on Sunday at 12:15 and on ESPN2. Elena Delle Donne is our top player and is tops nationally also. It will be fun to see what happens at the Bob Carpeter Center ( The Bob) which is very big and very sold out.
Al is glad to have his Honda back, but over did it yesterday afteroon and is very sore again today. Hopefully some quet time on the heating pad will help.
The shad are running here and I was able to enjoy a nice set of shad roe for breakfast this morning. The shad run always brings out the eagles near the big Conowingo Dam on the Susquehanna in nearby Maryland. I might run down there tomorrow and see if I can spot any.
The cold weather is still holding back some of my favorite flowers .The Andromeda and the Pussy Willow finally opened but the Forsythia  just can't quite make it The crocus still look good and it's funny to see them in places I know I never planted any. I'm working on a big kettle of Veggie beef soup, better go check on it. Enjoy spring day number two.
