Janet, I'm glad it worked for you. Living in the country, I have had need for it many times myself. I've thought many times that it should be included in church, fundraiser, etc. cookbooks, maybe under misc. or something like that. The folks at my vet found it in a hunting magazine. Of course, that was several years ago before the special shampoo was available. I have tried tomato juice, but found this to be more economical and more effective.

What happened to our rock budget?

Does anyone know what happened in the commissioners meeting today? Whats going on with our rock budget?

I have used this recipe before and it worked very well. I got it from my vet. I know they now have a special pet shampoo specially formulated for skunk odors, but I have never used it.

SKUNK SOAP

1 Qt. 3% Hydrogen Peroxide (Be sure to use fresh peroxide. After being open for an extended period of time it tend to turn   back into regular water)
1/4 c. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Liquid Dish Soap

Mix all ingredients. Apply liberally to infected area, being careful to avoid eyes. Work into the dogs coat for approximately 10 minutes. Rinse well. Repeat if necessary. Since peroxide can be harsh to the dogs skin, it is recommended that you bathe your dog again with a shampoo recommended for dogs.

Hope this works! When something like this occurs, they always want extra attention form their owners.  I never had time to make a trip to the vet for the "special" shampoo, and found this concoction to work great in a pinch!! Most people have these items on hand. 

The meeting was canceled and to my knowledge has not been rescheduled yet.

The board meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 11 @ 8:00 p.m. in the board room at the school.

New board members start in July. Teacher contracts will be discussed either at this month's meeting or next months. The current school board members will make all contractual decisions for the 2011-2012 school year.

No, they have not had the meeting concerning contracts yet. It should be soon.
