William Otis Lynes, 66, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away January 10, 2022.  He was born July 31, 1955 in Sedan, Kansas to Christopher Columbus and Audrie (Hodge) Lynes. 

Otis was raised in and educated in Moline, Kansas.  He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1973-1977.  When discharged, he went to work for Santa Fe Railway.  He left Santa Fe and opened and operated Lynes Conoco Service until he semi-retired and moved his shop to the family home.  Otis was united in marriage to Christie Foote on January 25, 1979.  To this union, two sons were born, Jeffrey and Joey.

Otis is survived by his wife, Christie of the home; sons, Jeff Lynes of Winfield, Kansas and Joey (Kathy) Lynes of Wichita, Kansas; granddaughter, Amily of Winfield, Kansas; grandsons, Braden of Winfield, Kansas and Austin of Wichita, Kansas; sister, Marcia of Chanute, Kansas; brothers, Ronnie of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Paul of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Aden, David Leon, and David Lynn.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield, Kansas.  A private family interment will take place at Highland Cemetery in Winfield,.  Visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Friday, January 14 , 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  The family will greet visitors that evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  A memorial has been established in Otis's name for his grandchildren's education fund.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.  Miles Funeral Service, 4001 E. 9th, Winfield, Kansas 67156 has been entrusted with arrangements.
