Phyllis Ann Osborn, age 82, of Elk Falls, Kansas, died Wednesday, February 11, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Phyllis was born on August 3, 1932 in Dexter, Kansas, the daughter of Francis and Beulah (Hankins) Isch,.
After high school, Phyllis married Neal Osborn on June 4, 1953. Phyllis and Neal were married for 61 years. She was very active in the community, and she worked with Neal as the office manager of O & B Oil Company.
Phyllis was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Kansas Cattlewomens Association, American Legion Auxiliary, and Elk Falls United Methodist Church. Phyllis and Neal were also Committee Chairpersons for the Republican Party. Phyllis also served on the first EEOC Board. She was also a real estate agent and airplane pilot, which included being a member of the 99's. In her spare time, Phyllis enjoyed working with the area children as a 4-H leader and helping out others in the community. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her family and friends.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Cheryl A. Dornes and husband, Roy W. of Gridley, Kansas; her sons, Frank A. Osborn and wife, Raye of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Fred Osborn and wife, Tammy of Carl Junction, Missouri; her sister, Juanita Hall of Longmont, Colorado; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Neal on January 15, 2015.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at the Elk Falls United Methodist Church in Elk Falls, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.
