Title: ANDREWS, Patricia Lou - b. October 30, 1927 - d. June 4, 2012

Patricia Lou Andrews, 84, passed away peacefully Monday, June 4, 2012 at her home in Wichita, Kansas.  She was born October 30, 1927 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, one of five children to her parents , Sidney and Bessie Merliss.

Patricia married Albert Andrews in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on November 4, 1945, and to this union four children were born.  She lived in Wichita for the past 56 years.  Patricia owned The Pancake Shoppe for 18 years and Floss & Yarn for 22 years, both of which she envisioned, created, and established.  She enjoyed needlework and entertaining.

She will be remembered by her devoted husband, Albert; their children, Dynda L. Andrews of New York City, New York, Randall Steven Andrews of Washington, D.C., Schari (Chuck) Porter of Buhler, Kansas, and James P. Andrews of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, John A. P. (Daphne) Kirby, Timothy J. Kirby, and Perrin P. L. Kirby, all of New York City, New York, Charlie Porter of Lawrence, Kansas, and Blasi Porter of Buhler, Kansas; and great-grandchild, Emma Rose Kirby of New York City, New York.

A private family service was held.  Memorial contributions may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, Kansas 67202.

Albert Andrews grew up in Howard, Kansas, the son of Albert and Edith Collins Andrews.

Thanks for posting this.  Patricia Andrews was my aunt.  Unfortunately, I had very little contact with them over the years.  I do remember traveling to Howard with my mother and stopping at the Pancake House.  When we had a cousin's reunion in Colorado Springs a few years ago, I got to meet one of their daughters.  I had not seen her in 40+ years back when she was just a baby.  My last meeting with my Uncle Albert and Aunt Pat was many years ago at a funeral for Albert's brother, Richard.  The above mentioned daughter wanted to attend the recent reunion, but stayed home to care for her mother.  As it turns out, her mother died on the day of the reunion.  I doubt anyone in Elk County would remember her, but they might have stopped at the Pancake House while in Wichita.
