The junior high students have done it again - only this time it's the musicians. They went to league festival Wednesday and came away with a lot of I ratings!
The mixed chorus started the day out with I's from both judges. The girls chorus got II's from both judges and the boys chorus came away with a I- and a II.
Everyone else got I's. There was an instrumental trio (two saxophones and a French horn), with Aaron Miller, Eli Smith and Carson Jennings. It received a I.
Soloists were:
Dominic Ebersole - Trombone - I
Garrett Lambkey - Baritone - I
Courtney Hunter - Flute - I
Emily Perkins - Trumpet - I
Nora Trupe - vocal solo - I
Linda Shilts-Baum is the music director at West Elk. They went to the South Central Border League festival at Udall.
These kids are awesome! They represented themselves and West Elk very well!!!
This is awesome. Our math team, now the musicians. Looks like our school can do something besides sports.
I am impressed and PROUD!
Hope the kids get the praise they deserve. Great job folks!
Jenny will be in touch to get the story. Hopefully, we can get photos, too.
I just sent her a photo of the junior high musicians.
