Just a short note to let you know that David Alexander, who was on the Forum for sometime, was burned seriously about 3 weeks ago. David's trailer house caught fire. He has been in the hospital for 3 weeks, they have done some skin grafting. He is barely able to talk due to damage to his throat and lungs. He will be moving to an assisted living/Rehab center in the next few days. He is in pretty good spirits, he said the pain is much better and he has a positve attitude about the future. I will post more as soon as I know anything further.
Frank, if you are in touch with him, please tell him he is in my prayers. Also, let him know how much he is missed here on the forum. Thanks, Edie.
We are so sorry to hear about David's injuries. Hopefully he will make a full recovery and be back doing everything he enjoys soon! Please keep us updated on his progress.

Please add my good wishes for a speedy recovery also. Tell David he is missed here on the forum.

Ouch!
Add my prayers and well wishes when you next communicate with David.
Please send my well wishes and prayers. I also miss his posts and words of wisdom.
I am just horrified! He is one of my favorite people and I miss his posts so much! Send him our prayers for a speedy recovery, wishes for good spirits and encouragement during rehab. Is there an address for cards please? Being in the fire service I want details, of course, as to what happened, but I won't pry. :'(
Wow... that is horrible! How did the fire start? I'm glad he is getting better. and his outlook is good. Trailer houses burn so darn fast.. Scary.. Let him know everyone wishes him a fast recovery.
Please tell David that I am praying for him also.
Burns are so painful. I have nursed burn victims and it
is no "walk in the park" ...Hang in there David. Come
back I miss you, too.
I am so sorry to hear this... Please add my prayers to the many that are already being offered for him.
How awful! I hope he will see these posts to know that we care, and that we're praying for him.
Frank, please add my name to the list of those praying for David. It is really sad about the fire.
Prayers from Texas. Burns are so painful. I hope he makes a quick and complete recovery. Does someone have a address so we can send cards.
As soon as David gets settled in the Rehab Center I will post his address. I know David will appreciate all of your prayers and messages.
Thank you
Frank Winn

OMG. Is there any way to read a news report of this from his town/city? I, too, pray that he will recuperate quickly.
Where does he live?

Man burned in home fire expected to survive January 05, 2010, 04:08 AM Bay City News Service
A 48-year-old man injured when his mobile home caught fire in Belmont on Saturday evening is expected to survive, a fire marshal said Monday.
The blaze at 100 Harbor Blvd. took nearly 20 firefighters to control after it was reported around 8 p.m., Belmont-San Carlos Fire Marshal James Palisi said. The man was found face down on the driveway suffering from burns and smoke inhalation when firefighters first arrived, according to Palisi.
He was transported to an area hospital and listed in critical but stable condition Sunday morning, Palisi said.
The fire, which destroyed the mobile home, appears to have started when the man left his cooking unattended on the stove, Palisi said.
He said Saturday's fire should serve as a reminder for residents to never leave cooking unattended.
"It can happen very, very fast," Palisi said of a kitchen fire ignited by unattended cooking.
The cost in damage was estimated at $25,000.
How is David doing now? Does anyone have any newer info?
Thank you Frank. Please let us know his address when you can. I'm still just heart sick about what happened. Is his dog OK?
David is in a Rehab center and has improved some. He has been on a feeding tube until recently, yesterday he was able to eat some food pureed like baby food. He can talk better and his attitude is great.
His mailing address is : Skyline Rehab

Thank you so much for the update and rehab. address.
I talked to David today and he is doing very well. He is getting some semi-solid foods to eat and he continues to do his breathing treatments and says his lungs are feeling better alll the time. The ares that had skin grafted are healing very well and he says they don't hurt that bad it feels more like a sunburn on the grafted areas. He did express his appreciation for all of the cards and notes from so many people. Thank all of you.
