Title: DEMAND SUCCESSION

"Demand Succession"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't know about the rest of you but Im fed up with both parties and the direction of government in general in the US.

From this point forward any vote of mine goes towards Texas politicians who favor succession from the US.

What makes us a country is a shared sense of values and ideas. I feel that the US no longer shares these with people of Texas.

Yea I know, many of you say it cant be done....I say the hell it cant. We can do whatever we have the political will to do and are willing to fight for. We are only beholden to ourselves and God.

Texas has the 2nd largest economy in the US and 15th in the World. It has 6 of the top 50 companies and 46 of the all the Fortune 500 companies, more than any other state in the union. I think we can stand pretty well on our own.

Just my rant....buts its also my vote....

Would never work.  Not because of geography or poitics but because of the people behind the movement.  They aren't willing to do what is nessecary to accomplish it.

Billy, I think you may want to change your wording some.

Billy, with all due respect, how many years have you lived in Texas, and who are you referring to as those not willing to do what it takes.

Frawin, I understand what you're saying.  However, how many Texans would be willing to turn their guns on family and friends?  How many would be willing to kick those same family and friends out of Texas?

Those not willing to do what it takes would be a great number of  people.  Many of whom are backing the seccison movement.

For secssion to work all involved would have to be of the same mind.  There could be no compromise.

I didn't mean what I said earlier as an insult, sorry if it came across that way.

It took me awhile to figure this out and I'm trying to be nice, but have you all been talking about"secession"? Succession is a whole  other thing.

Diane, I copied it just as it was posted and I think everyone knew what the writer was referring to, which was obvious and already in other posts at the time.

Hey, I wasn't sniping at you. I just don't know how a writer can expect to be taken seriously when he doesn't take the time to learn how to spell the name of the subject he wanted to write about,( especially in the title)  including statistics. If a bunch of you plan to discuss it, it's spelled secession, no other way. Now there it is, use it an sentence so you'll all remember it. ;)

Diane as usual you miss the point that us dumb Kansans are trying to make. I am well aware of how to spell secession. I copied it exactly as it was for a reason. You seem to be the only one that didn't get the point. If you are posting a quote you don't change the wording.

Frawin, it's you who missed the point.  Diane is referring to the title of the thread, which you did not originate from you.  Fine, great we get it, you copied and pasted from somebody else.  Diane's statement still rings true.

First line after the title.

"Demand Succession"

The title would be appropriate spelling since it is spelled that way in the article.

I knew what the author meant.  Like others, I could see no reason to address the spelling.
It's interesting to see others' opinions of secession.  Thanks for posting, Frawin.

My goodness, I'm on the hot seat again. I found the article interesting. But, I stand by what I said. Nobody is calling anybody dumb. If you had added sic it would have taken care of it. The word was wrong at least one other place too, but I left that alone as I said I would. My beef is with the author going out of his way to prove that you all are right, some people are indeed coming out of school uneducated and he's gonna prove it!  ;D ;D ;D ;D  Don't people take any pride in their writing anymore?

Oh Diane, some people are just never happy.  I don't mind, it allows me to use one of my favorite words,  malcontent.

I give up. On the one hand I'm told it's an open forum and anyone can have an opinion. But, somewhere, in invisible ink there is a list of those of us who are not included. Namely Diane....I even try to be polite about it. OK, never mind. Maybe if I start cussing and name calling I'll get more respect.

You must be a pretty good speller, so what's your opinion on secession?
Do you believe that it's acceptable?

Spell check is my friend! ;) Actually, I'd hate to see this country break up because I'm afraid our world enemies would see it as an internal weakness, but I believe the states have the right to go their own way if they wish.
