eh, the title is pretty misleading. In 3 min 30 seconds, the word "American" was never mentioned. The piece is about makinf textbooks gender neutral.
You know the ridiculousness of the human race just keeps growin. Most of these people seem to accept that the ONLY education their kids or grandkids or whatever are gonna get is what comes from the "government-controlled" text books.
Text books have NEVER told the real story or ALL the story. They tell the VERSION of history (or WHAtever) that happens to be popular at that particular moment in time. There is absolutely nothin new about this...it's not a NEW threat...it's the same s&*^ different day.
We as THINKING DISCERNING humans have the obligation to dig for the "rest of the story" so to speak and to make sure it gets HEARD and TAUGHT even if we are the only ones willing to do it.
All this "politically correct" stuff goes on because people are so afraid to stand out from the crowd that anything that might MAKE them stick out gets the brand of being incorrect or racist or sexist or whatever-ist. Everybody has bought into the "guilt" and taken it too far.
So people shoud do what MY parents and grandparents and I did and DO...teach their kids the things that AREN'T in the text-books. Just DO it and quit whinin about it.
Everybody wants a thing to be in writing somewhere to make it "right". They want somebody ELSE to validate them and what they think......just THINK....just DO
