US Foreign Aid to those that hate us:
Egypt, for example, after voting 79% of the time against the United States, still receives $2 billion annually in US Foreign Aid.
Jordan votes 71% against the United States and receives $192,814,000 annually in US Foreign Aid.
Pakistan votes 75% against the United States receives $6,721,000 annually in US Foreign Aid.
India votes 81% against the United States receives $143,699,000 annually
Perhaps it is time to get out of the UN and give the tax savings back to the American workers who are having to skimp and sacrifice to pay the taxes.

What kinds of things are they voting against us on? If it was aid to Isreal, I could understand, but what else. Jordan and Pakistan didn't used to hate us, neither did Iran. It's a shame that it has changed so much over the years.

Thanks for the post. Warph. My biggest problem with all this money going out in foreign aid is not so much where it goes although that is important as you point out, is with what they do with it. I think I have heard in the past when these countries are asked what they are doing with this money, the reply is always the same: they are providing food and medical care, thank you very much. It's not like you can get a receipt detailing each expenditure item, at least one that is realistic. I think that a lot of this money goes for weapons and weapons research. I don't want to sound like I am an isolationist, but like is stated in the post lets get some of that money to the people in the US that need it. Why feed an orphan in Pakistan when you can keep a teacher on the job here? I know it sounds a little cruel, but we should spend our money on us first then them if there is any left.

I am sure Warph realizes that. I think you can almost always find some small bit of error in a post here on the forum. Pointing it out may inform some people of some bit of new information, so it does have some benefit. The big picture is we supply a lot of foreign aid to countries that could be spent here to help us with our problems.

Oh yes there is a major islamic influence in india. Punjab was the site of one of the most horrendous massecres initiated against the indian people by islamic people.
They have managed to move into the country a littel at a time too like their doing to our country.

mostly hindu with a mix of christian and other beliefs. Islam has made a major dent into the culture. Though it hasn't gained the power that it has in other countries and probably won't happen.

I believe so. Those two countries have had problems with each other for a long time.

For a while that massecre sparked a war between the two countries that ended up in a very bloody history. But since that time, the cultures have merged a lot in that particluar pradish. Uhmm Pakistan never split off from india. The city was divided by both countries because of its ports. The river that feeds that city was a major thing. Uhm the problem was that when the muslims tried to expand into India, they did so violently and caused the other side of punjab to retaliate. I suppose you could call it indias 9/11. The indian people responded in like manner and were just as bloody as the muslims. It ended in a division of the city.
