I wonder if the oldtimers in front were veterans from the Spanish - American war or maybe the Civil War ?!

They are marching east on Randolph Street.. going by what is now the post office.
You can't hardly make it out behind them on the corner( where the 1st National Bank is now) but there is the old Metropolitan Hotel. See this closeup:
