I think these 2 videos are something everyone should watch.
Beware - Illegal software allows anyone to tap your cell phone
So, if you don't leave your cellphone out of your site, it won't happen?!
yeah right......Don't believe it..
This one wouldn't let me embed this video.. but this is scary stuff
Also ..Watch this video below.:

Yikes.
That is all absolutely true, because cell phone are radios and work on radio technology. That's why I'll never give up my land line for some things.
I know! Yikes is right.. :o After I looked at this I looked at Kjell and said" Is this for real? Can they really do this and is the software out there?"
He did some fast research and yep.. it is there.. Lots of different kinds. All of them of course have the claim that it is illegal to tap anyone's phone without their permission..
*Yeaaahhhhh right*
It makes me very leery about using my phone for anything other than ..
"What time are we eating hotdogs at the lake type of stuff"
I was stalked big time once a couple years ago.. It is HORRIBLE!
I could have swore that the persons and party involved had a tap on our phones ..but didn't know about this stuff then..
Those 5 months were the longest of my life..and I could write a book about it.. But anyone outside of family and a few friends would think I was making it all up from a thriller spy movie...
And no... we never caught who it was.. although we all pretty much knew. Had to get some of Kjells old buddies from the police force to intervene.. when they found that out.. they quit..But occasionally he will "drop me a note" letting me know he/they still watch me..
So no one is immune from things like this happening..
And you wonder why I am armed................................... LOL
Fortunately phone stalkers very rarely ever act on their bravado. They are very scared, insecure people who are only brave from a distance when you don't know who they. It gives them power if they think you are afraid. But I do know how you feel, been there myself.
I wish it had only been the phone................. :-\
THAT I could have dealt with pretty easy....
reason number 672 why I don't have a cell phone...or northstar...or a vehicle new enough to hav a black box
Teresa, I'm so sorry you had problems :(
Teresa, been there done that, and it ain't no fun! :P
You too? That's awful.
You can thank the government for this. They require manufactuerers to iput this into the phones for tracking and surveillance. It happened back in 1998 i think when they started with gps.
Another thing most people don't know is if you have digital cable in your home, the settop boxes have microphones and they have cameras inside of them and they can be activated from remote
What's a settop box? I didn't have to do anything except turn my TV on and I have digital cable.

Most cable companies have a box that plugs into your tv if your tv is analog. Those settops convert the signal to work on your tv.

if you do just pull the battery when your not using it. no one can activate a dead phone :)
Yeah, but as soon as I put the battery back in they know where to find me, and if my phone has a camera they'll see me buying
yet another copy of Catcher in the Rye. And if my "box" has a camera they can see me right now, they'll my posters and flags on
my walls...they'll see my rifle...they'll see that I just flipped them the bird...
I have two analog TVs that run most of the day. One of them is at least 25 years old and the other is old enough that it doesn't have the ability to return to previous channel. I don't have a box.
I suppose next we will be told that there is a camera in the modem that sets beside my computer. Maybe I should smile everytime I look at it. Or post a sign on the computer, "Smile, you're on camera"?

sorry, I couldn't see my keyboard, was hiding under desk ;D
LOL ;)
Maybe a piece a tape across the front of the modem would do the trick.

WEll if you do not have a newer digital tv, with digital tuner capability, and no settop box, you do not have digital cable. Its not possible to run digital cable into a analog tv without a digital tuner.
I know this because i worked for Scientific Atlanta who designed the first digital cable setup for the industry. The cable companies do however run both analog and digital signal on the same cable so your probably getting the analog signal not the digital.
Wilma, did you get your coupons for boxes? Will you lose your signal on June 12? Can some one help Wilma?
She shouldn' t have a problem since cable does the scrambling for her.
The only folks that will have a problem is those using an antenna.
If you might think that people might not still be using an antenna, they are still out there by the thousands, maybe even millions.
The over the air channels in Denver stopped broadcasting analog a few days ago and people are coming out of the woodwork complaining to the news media.
OK. Thanks, Waldo. I wasn't sure how it works out there. We have fiber optic here, so we're OK anyway.
Wilma, if you have SKT cable, turn to channel 2 the channel that has the local ads. I do believe that they have a panel there that says if you are able to see that ad, then you are transition ready. You might also want to call your provider if it is not SKT. Hope this helps! :D
Thank you for wanting to help. I have SKTC and I have seen that panel lots of times, except the whole channel wasn't operating yesterday. I just had faith that what all the channels were telling us about not needing a box if we were on cable would be true. Our CBS and ABC channels are totally digital now and I am still getting them. They gave us plenty of warning that it was going to happen.
Just FYI; Channel 12 (CBS) will be out today for an hour from 10 am to 11 am. Not sure it affects cable networks. They have to do some upgrades to the digital signal.
