Many of you may not know yet that they took Marty by ambulance last night with chest pains. He did have a heart attack and they transferred him to Galachia Heart Hosp. in Wichita. Just got a call from Kelly. Joanna told her they done a heart cath, found a blood clot and inserted a stint about 5:00 this morning. He is doing fine and doctor said if all goes well, he'll be able to come home probably about Tuesday. Prayers are needed for Marty, Joanna and the family.
Wow, what a shock, thanks for posting and prayers will be offered for their intentions. Barbara and Dale
Many of my relatives have heart problems...I will keep the family in all my prayers...there's nothing scarier than how sudden heart problems can occur.
They are in good hands at Galichia. Our prayers for the family.
With my Fred having been the recipient of many prayers through his heart surgery, we know how much they are appreciated. Our prayers and thoughts go out to Marty and his family.

OMG, i just talked with him a few days ago. :(
Well he's in good company. I've had 6 heart attacks since 1994. I went under surgery last year at Kansas Heart Hospital. Wonderful bunch there too.
Problems do seem to come fast. I will add my prayers to the others for Marty's recovery and his family peace of mind (and heart).
God watch over this family and while you are at it, keep my forum family in your loving arms, too.
God be with you!
Marty and family were put on the prayer list at worship services this morning.
Thanks for the information, Flo,
We hope things are taken care of and Marty will be on the road to recovery very soon! Our prayers go with the Hunter family!
Thank you all for your prayers & wishes. Marty is recovering very well and if things keep going smoothly he will come home today or tomorrow.
That is great news Joanna! Thanks for letting us know how he's doing.
Horray! Prayers went from here too. I'm so glad he paid attention to the pain and didn't ignore it.
Please add my good wishes and prayers to the list of all of the others coming your way.
My best to you,
With love,
Bonnie
what good news.. That is so scary. We all saw the ambulance come and when we heard it was Marty, we were shocked. he is only 50..and just saw him the other day and he was his usual happy smiley self with a big wave.. Just goes to prove we never know what is around the corner.
Take good care of him Joanna. He's a good guy. :)
Joanna,
I was so glad to hear Marty is doing alright! He is a great guy, and we need him back downtown real soon!

Joanna this is steve, i was over there the other day. IF Marty needs any help, i'm here. I have went through 6 heart attacks and 2 bypass surgeries and 5 stent operations. So i can help him adjust so that he doesn't end up like i did ;)
Steve
Hope Marty is home resting. If someone knows, please post!!!
Just talked to Scott. Marty came home last evening and he said Marty is pretty weak and tired but otherwise seems to be doing okay.
Flo is right, Marty is doing fine. He's just very tired. He's eating well & gets around fine, when he's not sleeping ;) Thanks for all your concern and prayers.
Thanks, that is great news!

Joanna, i just had stents put in last september. Make sure that he doesn't miss the plavix, and He's gotta do the walking LOL. I hate walking by myself but it is what were supposed to do. Also warn him not to lift anything for 2 weeks thats heavier than 15 pounds. It can unset the stents. :) But I am so glad to hear he's back :)
Steve, Marty got some similar advice from his nurse Robin "You might forget everything else, but iremember to breath and remember to take your Plavix." Ha!
And the Dr. must have seen the rebellion in Marty's eye, because he told him no more than 5 pounds for the next 2 weeks.
He's actually doing great and he's very determined to follow all the doctor's orders.

Good thats great. :) I am a old pro at the stents and surgery :P.
Hows Marty doing Joanna?
Marty is doing fine, he's just easily tired and a little sore. We expected that though, probably be a couple more weeks before he's back to normal.
He was feeling pretty good last week, but Friday had a setback when he got some severe abdominal pains. We got sent back to Wichita. He had 2 CT scans that day and they disagreed, but both were bad... however when they did laparoscopic surgery they didn't find any problems! The pain went away by the time he woke up too. I tell you, the prayers from our friends are more powerful than any doctor!
Anyhow, he's back home again and promises me he's not going to stress me anymore (Ha!) He's really tired and somehow he hurt his foot at the hospital and is limping ~ otherwise he's great. He's also pretty easy to keep track of ~ this is probably the first time in our lives together that I can walk faster than him ;).

LOL yeah he is a fast walker. I had to stop a few times out in that pasture that day.
Joanna,
Glad to hear Marty is doing so good. Rex is in Howard this week. Marty should get with Rex and talk about their stents. Rex has two and is very good about taking all his medicine.
He did real good the first year and 1/2 with his walking then got out of the habit. He has gained some weight and just went to the doctor and was in trouble for gaining so much so he has started walking again. I am sure Rodney and Rex will be walking in the morning.
