George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the
economy was fine.
A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.
4) the DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000 +
5) American's were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations
overseas, living large!...
BUT American's wanted 'CHANGE'! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic
Congress and yes--we got 'CHANGE' all right.
In the PAST YEAR:
1) Consumer confidence has plummeted ;
2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!;
3) Unemployment is up to 5.5% (a 10% increase);
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12
TRILLION DOLLARS and prices still dropping;
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
6) as I write, THE DOW is probing another low~~
$2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR
STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT
PORTFOLIOS!
YES, IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE...AND WE SURE GOT IT! ....
REMEMBER THE PRESIDENT HAS NO CONTROL OVER ANY OF THESE ISSUES, ONLY CONGRESS.
AND WHAT HAS CONGRESS DONE IN THE LAST TWO YEARS, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
NOW THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT CLAIMS HE IS GOING TO REALLY
GIVE US CHANGE ALONG WITH A DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS!!!!
JUST HOW MUCH MORE 'CHANGE' DO YOU THINK YOU CAN STAND?
Horse pucky, this didn't happen in two years....Give me a break. It didn't just happen because of democrats either......
You are paying too much for gas if you are paying on top of $4.00 a gal. I burn premium and I only gave $3.42 today. Yes, things have really gotten a LOT better since Bush got if office. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From Dreams of My Father:'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.'
From Dreams of My Father : 'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race.'
From Dreams of My Father:'There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe.. And white.'
From Dreams of My Father: 'It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.'
From Dreams of My Father:'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself , the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.'
And FINALLY the Most Damning one of ALL of them!!! From Audacity of Hope:'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.'
This is all taken out of context; for example, the I will stand with the Muslims refers to the harrassment that far eastern descent citizens received after 9/11. He was speaking about standing beside the citizens and their rights as citizens. Get your facts straight and repost if you must. All this that you have posted has been posted before and has been addressed. I know that repubs are running scared right now, but please try to be truthful in your postings! Do a little research please! ;)
KSHillbilly, I know you're fairly new on this forum so don't get too upset when someone points out that that your recent post has already been posted some time ago. It has happen to me, too. When this happens, it usually comes from some unmannered far-left loon that cannot stand for their socialistic/commie/muslim Clown who wants to be king of the world, spit upon. As for SDM bitchy retort towards your post, all I gotta say is keep spittin', buddy.
HHHmmmm----- :-X :-X :-X
Yup, run rabbit run! ;D ;D
I know this is the old educator in me coming out...but...WARPH, PLAY NICE.

Your right it didn't happen in two years. it started in 78 when carter weakened the rules for loaning money on housing to unqualified
individuals. Then in 1995, clinton destroyed the rules and opened us up for this disaster. 2003 dems stopped the president from strengthening our economy by putting in tougher restrictions on loans, again it happened in 2005 when republicans tried to fix it the dems raised holy hell about it and shot it down.

Hmmm and were to trust a man who wrote a book praising the accomplishments of a drunk who abandoned his child and mother of that child, knocked up multiple women in his village, lost his legs in a drunk driving incident he caused, and eventually killed himself in a drunk
driving incident? Apples don't fall far from the tree you know
Steve, there are incredible examples of people throughout history whose parents were the least likely to produce them. It is not necessary to hurl insults at Senator Obamas' parents, one of whom was a Kansan.

That IS Warph's nice side... dont'cha know? ;D ;D
Seriously... we are all over the top edge this political year. The reason being is that so much of our freedoms are at risk..and it is very frustrating for those who have been blinded by the Messiah to not be able to see it.... and those of us who are somewhat on the "inside of Washington" so to speak.. ( and there is many many levels... ) and KNOW what we know.. and not be able to somehow make the people see...
I have to bite my tongue until it bleeds for all of my knee jerk responses I have and not say. The Liberals laugh at the Conservatives "fears" .. They seem to get a big laugh out of us admitting that we are scared of what is to come. My dad.. who isn't scared of anything .. is afraid. He is afraid of what will be lost for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was in the Navy and has seen the conditions and other socialists countries..and what happens when freedoms are lost.
Once they are gone... they are gone. And to get them back is sometimes near to impossible. So why would we willingly want someone in there who has people surrounding him who wants to change the amendments to alter our freedoms? I just don't understand!
I can't sleep at night sometimes for the worry. I am sick to my stomach when I hear Obama regurgitate the words that are written for him. WHO is pulling his chain? WHO is making him dance? And WHO had the money and pull to get a do nothing lawyer from the back alleys of Chicago to THIS position?
THOSE people are the ones I am afraid of.. And you all should be too.
Piddly ass name calling? Put your big girl panties on and deal with it. If someone wants to call me a name .. so be it.. I dish it out.. I can take it. if you can't take a little bit of heat.. then stay out of the kitchen.
But I think we are all adults and no matter or distaste for someone on a public forum.. we should remain and act like adults and that goes for everyone.
Y'know srk, all of what you said has somethin to do with it, but it ain't the whole story.........I mean get real....and the fact is what's already done can't be changed and we all can sit around and put blame here there and everywhere and it AIN'T gonna change anything, all we can do now is figure out how the hell to live thru it..I'm for one tired of chasin my tail arguin in circles...I'm more interested in doin than talkin anyway....so I'm gonna do what I can do......try to promote harmony instead of gettin caught up in the futility of politics lol. I'm not polarized enough to really get into it anymore, all this discussin has just solidified my position on the fence :P I like most of ya on here whether I agree with ya or not.
Lol once again I was typin at the same time as somebody else :P too damn slow I am. Teresa is right too, I'm scared of what my kids and grankids are gonna inherit from this whole mess. That's why I'm teachin em what I know about takin care of themselves when times get rough.
