Hi everyone, I'm Barbara Clubine. My husband Dale and I own and operate the Clubine Ranch just outside of Moline. I have lived in Elk County for forty-two years. Dale was born and raised here. We love the beauty and the goodness of the land in this part of Kansas. We live a simple life and believe in working for what you get. Life is precious. Lots going wrong in this ole world but sure do think we have so much going for all of us here in Elk County. Very proud of our neighbors and friends from all over the county who do their share and work continually to make this a wonderful place to love, live and work. I feel we have wonderful amenities of an awesome sunrise or sunset, the sky lit by the power of an electrical storm, and oh that rolling thunder. The people who care enough to laugh, cry, sing, dance, scold, just hold their tongue...whatever it takes to get you though whatever you are going thru.
Yes, Communication Team and Teresa I was able to log on with your wonderful encouragement. Thanks...  But now I am struggling to send my picture to Teresa and post. This might be a challange!  :)

Barbara and Dale,   Welcome to the forum.  It'll be great to have news from my old neck of Elk County.  Be sure to watch for posts from Flintauqua, that's brother Charlie.  LisaT. shows up occasionally as well, but we haven't got Roberta on yet.
Really like the photo of the old Wildcat School bell.  Glad to see it's back out for public viewing.  Do you know what happened to the debris after the school was burned?  I collected a couple of bricks shortly afterwards, but wouldn't mind getting a few more if they are anywhere accessible.

Several people took a brick or two but do not know where the rest went. If I hear I will let you know.

Welcome to you and so nice to see  a new soul here....I started to say body and realized that
we can't see each other.........So glad about that, too..........we would all have to get dressed just
to play on here.

Nice place to be and I learn so much about this area......being a city girl (Topeka) I feel like I am a transplanted
hillbilly and just love it down here.

Oh I live in Longton and I agree with you........this is a beautiful area and always I see something new each day I care/choose to look.

God  bless
Judy

Barbara, is your rance the one where people come and stay sometimes?  It seems that someone told me about a ranch like that. There was also a gift shop or something there.  On one of my trips through Moline a couple of years ago, I drove way out to this place, but it was closed when I got there.  Always wanted to go back when it was open.  I live in Springfield, MO.  Welcome to the Forum.

I believe you're thinking about the Red Buffalo Ranch, down in Sedan, KS.  That would be a ranch worth seeing!  I'll bet the owner, Bill Curtis (of TV fame), has been able to make it into something to behold, if his gift shop down in Sedan is anything to judge by.

No Roma Jean we are a working ranch, but relatives and friends like to come and visit for a day or so. I think maybe the gift shop would have been at Butcher Hallow on the Red Buffalo Ranch. It is really neat but I don't think people stay overnight but I reallly don't know..........Maybe Rudy Taylor might provide some information on that. We like Spring Field, we try to go to the Ozark Fall Farm Fest as often as we can. Think we went two years ago. Very pretty country and very friendly people. Thanks for the welcome.
