Title: Worst House Speaker in History Labels Bush a Total Failure
Post by: Warph on July 19, 2008, 10:22:22 AM

Legislators fear for their lives, simply because they come to work.  Some have been assassinated by car bombs, others by gunfire, while simply going out among their constituents.  During their legislative meetings there is always the (increasingly) slight risk of a mortar attack or a suicide bomber.  And yet a fractious Iraqi Parliament just learning democracy has still accomplished far more than the U.S. House of Representatives under Nancy Pelosi.

Her horrid leadership has managed to drag Congress to the lowest approval ratings in history.  Pelosi's Congress is polling nine points lower than Nixon's just ten days before he resigned.

So Nancy... dear... I think you might have a wee bit of a projection issue going on.  Boy do you SUCK!..... Warph

WARPH, I saw on CNN last night that Pelosi is refusing to bring ANWR or OCS drilling to a vote in the house because she knows the house is ready to pass it. Is that not Anarchy at work, she is trying to be the Queen ruler.

I thought that if a motion is made and seconded that it had to be voted on?  Wouldn't refusing to let it be voted on constitute treason or something?  Maybe it could be tabled, but doesn't that have to be voted on, too?

So you are not a Democrat? ;D ;D ;D

Nope.... Republican.... like in a normal state of a healthy person whose brain developed under the caring guidance of the progressive establishment.

As opposed to the Republican/Capitalist/Conservative brain, a Liberal/Socialist/Democrat brain is hard to map because it undergoes perpetual reshuffling of its centers and synapses.  Generally it can be characterized by a compassionate concern for not taxing the rich enough, combined with generosity in spending other people's money.  A Democrat brain is known to have a well-developed "blame-America" synapse, a benign "Smarter Than Thou" tumor, a Global Warming Panic Center, the Entitlement Synapse, Moral Relativity Gray Area, and a "P.C. Lobe" responsible for speech codes, multiculturalism, racial quotas, and alternative lifestyles.

The underdeveloped areas of a Democrat brain usually include those that handle common sense, personal responsibility, sense of humor, patriotism, and work ethics. The eternal motivational force that keeps a Liberal Democrat going is typically a daily doze of Starbucks coffee combined with the dialectical struggle of the opposites - the feeling of being a victim of oppression and the feeling of guilt for oppressing the others at the same time.

How right you are, Frank.  Again Pelosi demonstrates her limited understanding of the economy, energy demand and comes off as eliteist, ignorant and unworthy of her public office.

With Our Socialist Majority Congress currently enjoying a single digit approval rating under her "leadership" she provides a strong argument for term limits.  Lord, I do pray for TERM LIMITS!

however, it developed in a very narrow one-sided direction.

I am a republican, but do have several moderate stances.  To see this woman interview and answer questions just mesmerizes me.  How can you have such little common sense.  To give yourself a pat on the back and dismiss the fact that 9% of Americans approve of the job you do????

I vaguely remember when the party leadership changed in the House last term and they were screaming about the horrid $2 dollar gas and vowed to bring down the price to a more reasonable level.......That worked well~~~Hence the 9% approval rating.

It isn't that I don't like democrats....I don't think I like any of them!!!!!  (Have to go now, cause I really want to start using bad words)  :-X

Dan, Pelosi's program to bring down oil will work, it will bring down the supply. Stop or prohibit drilling, tax the oil companies so they have more to spend??????? This woman is a total embarrassment, I think the pressure is getting to her, in her last few appearances she has looked like a mental case. Hopefully, no matter which party is in control of the House they will get this woman out of there. My biggest concern is that the Socialist, liberal left is so much in control of the house, even with the Democratic Majority I didn't think the Majority had sunk so far left as to elect someone like this person.

Wilma, to go back to a question you had earlier, I don't think Congressional Procedure is quite the same as the Parliamentary Procedure and Roberts Rules that we are used to.

Isn't that the way it is, though.  We live by one set of rules, Congress lives by another?

QuoteSpeaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the Democrats adjourned the House and turned off the lights and killed the microphones, but Republicans are still on the floor talking gas prices.

Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) and other GOP leaders opposed the motion to adjourn the House, arguing that Pelosi's refusal to schedule a vote allowing offshore drilling is hurting the American economy. They have refused to leave the floor after the adjournment motion passed at 11:23 a.m. and are busy bashing Pelosi and her fellow Democrats for leaving town for the August recess...

"This is the people's House," Rep, Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.) said. "This is not Pelosi's politiburo."

Democratic aides were furious at the GOP stunt, and reporters were kicked out of the Speaker's Lobby, the space next to the House floor where they normally interview lawmakers.

The "most open and ethical House ever" went dark– and C-SPAN and every other media outlet were powerless to broadcast the proceedings of the GOP revolt–because Nancy Pelosi and the Dems didn't want the public to see and hear the voices of GOP lawmakers on the House floor talking about their energy proposals.

Yes, they are...and they are representing the party that would just LOVE to take over the White House...doesn't sound like a bunch that I would want to be associated with.

Interesting. Silence the truth by prohibiting free speech. What a novel idea!!!!
Our forefathers should have thought of that when drafting the constitution.

...On Drugs:

(Why would anyone vote against subjecting federal employees to random drug tests? I was a federal employee when I worked for the Federal Aviation Administration, and I would have thought it a great idea. Who wants people in charge of monitoring pilots to be on drugs? That's just one small example. I can't figure this one out... but then, I can't figure any of them out.)

...On Education:

Voted NO on vouchers for private and parochial schools; voted NO on allowing vouchers in DC schools; voted NO on allowing school prayer during the War on Terror.

...On Energy and Oil:

Voted YES on starting implementation of Kyoto Protocol; voted NO on passage of the Bush Administration national energy policy; voted NO on authorizing construction of new oil refineries; voted NO on scheduling permitting for new oil refineries.

(In other words, go ahead and tip off Mexicans about the Minuteman Project! Let everyone come in. So what if they are carrying suitcase bombs! It's no skin off my nose. All of the issues are not included, nor all of the votes; nor are all the things I thought but didn't say.

Just wanted the voting record of the Pelosi  Demon-rat to be up..and to let  everyone know who they are and what they stand for; on a state level as well as a national level. If you educate one person, it will help!
