And by old shoes, I mean the ones that even a hobo wouldn't be able to use. Is there any way of recycling them for whatever could be salvaged from them?
If they are still good enough, I donate them to a thrift store like DAV or Good Will, but I have a pair that one of them has been built up an inch. Besides the condition they are in now, it is very unlikely that anyone would need a pair of shoes that one of them has a sole an inch thicker than the other. So, what can I do with them besides trashing?
plant a flower in them, hen and chickens look really cute in old shoes. Plant in the top opening as well as a slit cut in the toe. Cute on steps. :D
Thank you, SDM. I can always count on you for a solution.
For athletic shoes Nike has a recycling program that turns athletic shoes into playground surfaces.
