We were saddened to receive word late last night that a lifelong friend, Rex Bantz had passed away.

We're sorry to hear that, although I know he has really had a struggle with health issues for the past year or so.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Sorry to hear about Rex.  Our sympathy to famiy and friends. 
Believe the last time I saw Rex was at Toot's several years ago.

Rex Albert Bantz, age 73, of Howard, Kansas,passed away Sunday, April 13, 2008 at the Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.  Rex was bon on May 13, 1934 in rural Howard, the son of Clark Albert and Violet L. (Stone) Bantz.

He was a graduate of Howard High Schooland and attended Kansas State University for two years.  On July 18, 1964, Rex was united in marriage to Elizabeth Ann Lynam in Moline, Kansas.

Rex was a member of the United Methodist Church in Howard, Kansas.  Memberships also included:  a charter member and club leader for the Flint Hills Boosters 4-H Club, Howard Fair Association, Grace Lawn Cemetery Board, Elk County Farm Bureau Board, SCS Board, and the Exension Board. 

Rex is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Liz" Bantz, of the home; two daughters, Paula McAlister of Moline, Kansas and Reann French of Tonganoxie, Kansas; one sister, Janey Criger of Humboldt, Kansas; and four grandchildren, Scott McAlister, Abbie McAlister, Garrett French, and Nicholas French.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Martin Criger.

Funeral services wil be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Howard, Kansas with Pastor Charles Cryderman officiating.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.  Interment will be at Grace Lawn Cemetery.  The family suggests contributions to the Elk County 4-H Scholarship Fund and may be sent to Countryside Funerar lHome, P.O.
