Lets' start with 'The Night Before Christmas', recite and post one line, then the next person posts the next line. It is legal to change the words, but let's keep it pretty clean and along the lines of Christmas. Okay, here goes-----
'Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the stable
(Is this what you mean?)
not an animal was stirring
Very good----- let's see where this goes! Hee Hee ;D ;D
as there was no cable!
The children were jumping up and down on their beds
While visions of video games scrambled their heads
when up on the rooftop they heard a loud snap
It was Clarence the angel, in a white cap.
He danced and he sang and spun himself 'round
(Dang, you folks are GOOD!!) 8) 8) 8)
Till he totally collapsed and fell smack on the ground!!!!! :P
He picked himself up and looked to the sky
Adjusting his clothes and straightening his tie!
He said, "Stop pushing me, I am moving as fast as I can".
Enbarrassed Clarence ;D flapped his wings while he ran!
When suddenly Claudine appeared by his side
And offered her sleigh so together they could ride
His eyes how they twinkled, his cheeks were like cherries!
As he watched Claudine smear her hair with red berries.
"Let's find Santa," he said, oh so merry. (Too much Wassil in these two characters :'( )
So we can touch Santa's beard and feel if it's still very hairy
The elves appeared, they wanted to go
With Clarence and Claudine to play in the new snow!
When out on the highway they heard a horn toot.
How happy they were to share the huge bag of loot!
back home the christmas tree sparkled with lights
And Grandma and Grandpa appeared in their tights!
the wine was poured, the snacks were ready
When in through the front door came Wild Uncle Freddy.
He had a large sack
but nothing was in it!
Most likely he had forgotten his gifts at the last minute!
But, oh no! what is it? Could it really be?
There was Louise all blown up sitting by the tree
then guess what to their wondering eyes soon appeared
Auntie Ferd looking for----Oh No! Not Me!!!! :o :o :o
She searched high and low and finally said,
"I can't seem to find that child, anywhere"
Had she left him behind in the rush?
And finally she heard upon the roof
A very small noise that just went "Poof".
they ran to the window to see what it was
but their vision was clouded by floating laundry dryer fuzz!
Then there was one of the reindeer taking a p-stop (oops) :-\ :-\ :o :o ::) ::)
Using the rain drain for gutter purpuzzes
(Pit stops are a necessity of life) ;D ;D ;D
((Having a hard time keeping this in the rhyming mode))) :-\
Santa squinted hard and looked through the fuzz..............
But found it was Rudolph's nose making a buzz.
Har! Hark! What is that I hear?
(I fixed my last line, spelling is now incorrect but helps with the meter)
Are the reindeer really actually drinking beer? :o
No, they only are struggling with colds in their noses
Coughing and sneezing because of the roses!
And icy and shivering right down to their toeses.
Because someone sprayed them down with the garden hoses.
From noses to toeses to hoses and roses---holy Moses!
Santa needs to share all that egg nog he has been swigging.
Pass the Nasal spray please, the trip isn't over, yet.
Maybe that's why Santa is dancing and jigging!
Turn that holiday music up really LOUD
then stand back and make room for the gathering crowd.
Old Santa & Claudine are doing the twist
Old Santa doing that crazy thing with his wrist
His carpal tunnel was aching, his rear was, too
And he felt like he was coming down with the flu.
But, like the mailman, Santa goes through, up to the roof top and
down through the flue
Coughing and sneezing; the soot it just flew!!
But Santa always delivers this time of year
Gifts galore -for each little dear
There's toys for the kids and treats for the pets...
putting much thought into what each one gets.
Flowers for Granny and Socks for Gramps,
not to mention ipods an flourescent lamps!
Santa, the reindeer and all the elves too
dash away, dash away and away they flew
But wait! An emergency! Rudolph's nose has turned BLUE!
and, oh, the color was a beautiful hue
it seems the last home they visited had
spiked the egg nog and
and disposed of some "weed" on the fireplace log.
Santa was singing, and thought the reindeer were too
It was essence of "weed" in the air, made it true.
They said Merriest Christmas we ever had ;)
Good night Irene was one of the songs,
With Church bells ringing ding ding ding dong.
Children saying their prayers
excited about santa's visit
But when they looked in their stockings,
They asked "What is it"?
Is Rudolph up to his old tricks?
It's pure deer do and crawly old ticks! :( :(
"Please don't worry", the Christmas angel said
You'll feast on those sugar plums that dance in your heads.
and so they waited with smiles on their faces
and sat quietly by the tree in their places..
They soon heard sounds of tiny hooves
and sweetly tinkling bells
as my sister and I quietly hid under Daddy's big desk shelves.
Waiting to sneak a peak at Santa and his elves!
Throughout the star-studded night the wind kept blowing
But Santa and his sleigh kept going, with Rudolph's strange nose softly glowing.
Higher and higher the sleigh glided above
Then suddenly dipped-just like a dove. (eh-iit rhymes)
It landed so softly, with nary a noise
Filled with toys and treasures for all the good girls and boys.
The reindeer were quiet as Santa jumped from his sleigh
filled his sack with presents and was on his way . .
In silence, he entered each home on his route
Limping slightly because of the gout!
He delivered the gifts under the tree
Including one little rolling bumble bee!
then up to the rooftop and back to his sleigh
Tol the next house he ventured, "Up and Away"!
He laughed as he shouted
Even though some folks actually still doubted
that Santa could do that all in one night
he shouted "MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL IN THIS HOUSE"
which created a loud sound and filled the animals with fright.
Cats on the ceiling and dogs under the bed, even Lucas the hamster landed on top of my head!
then they spotted the presents under the tree
and gazed in amazement wondering, "Are they for me??"
We ran to the tree and looked in delight
at the pile of gifts--oh what a sight!
Then one by one they gathered round
songs in their hearts, but not making a sound
they paused for a moment and thought of the reason----
Of why we celebrate this season...........
A prayer was delivered for those far and nearr
to all of the shut ins and those who need cheer
From the soldiers far away from their homes
and a prayer for the ones who lost their lives so we could be in our homes.
A season of joy is shared by those who believe
in Santa, the reindeer, the manger, the star.
Merry Christmas to all, where ever you are! :)
May your blessings be many,
Your troubles be few
remember old friends as well as the new
And that is just a pretty good ending to this. Thanks to each poet for posting! It was great fun---- till next year! Merry Christmas and to all a Good Night!
this has been fun, and I agree we all did pretty good.
Now for eating and celebrating and then passing the tums and
visiting.
Merry Christmas to all and God bless and keep you.
