Title: Boston Hotel
Post by: W. Gray on August 28, 2007, 04:14:44 PM
he Boston Hotel was owned by Ralph. J. Edwards.

It was one of two hotels in the town.

The other hotel was owned by Asa Thompson father of Thomas E. Thompson.

Both hotels had restaurants.

Edwards tore his hotel down and moved the lumber to Howard where he used the same boards to rebuild.

The Moline Museum has a nightstand on the second floor which was in the Boston Hotel. The stand held a pitcher of water and a pan for washing up in the room.

The Elk County History book says the hotel went from Boston to Moline but that is incorrect.

Hope this post works. The newspaper ad is from the September 5, 1878, Howard Courant-Ledger
