  Apparently warped Elk County humor goes back a long way. My father had it too. Is it something in the water?

I agree Diane. I have noticed that humor in my Grandfather Turner's newspaper columns.  Then when I began reading the papers he would have read as a boy, I could see where he got his humor and the use of, for lack of a better word, quips.
