We're all birds of a feather. Sometime, let's just get together and forget stuff.
Actually, society would benefit if everybody would forget everything every night, don't you think?
Well, at least forgive.
you know, Rudy, while "resting" my brain yesterday I thought of this very thing. How nice it would be to have a forum reunion, here at the park, but everyone is so scattered, how would we do it.
We are 20 hours from Howard, usually 2 days and a morning's drive. Al says he would happily come too, if its next spring or summer. This year would be tough. Get the closer people together soon for a "practice run."
Now, that would be fun. We could maybe do it at the south park by the pool and maybe do it on a Saturday afternoon, say around 2:00. It could be a covered dish, bring you table service and those of us close could furnish the drinks.
The biggest problem would be trying to figure out a Saturday that we all could do it. Maybe a week or two after Labor Day. You all give that some thought.
If it's planned far enough in advance, most of us can adjust schedules, or make sure it's on our schedules. No last minute excuses. :D
I think that if it is done in advance.. and organized well.. it would be great fun. :)
It would have to be "put on the calendar" so then you won't plan something else for that date.
I think it is a great idea and one that we should start working on.. if not for this year..
then maybe early next spring before it gets hot and the flies and mosquitoes want to join us. lol
Everyone will need to post their ideas and thoughts on this..
and please keep it to the topic at hand. :)
(I'll keep this topic stickied for awhile so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle of everything else.)
As crazy as our life is now, we may not be able to make it, but we would sure try. Sounds like a cool idea. We could put faces with names and such.
A get-together sounds great. I'll pitch in to help!
Who's in charge? One, two, three, NOT IT! ;) I'd be happy to be part of a small group to get it organized though, or just to take orders from someone.
Giving orders? I LOVE to give orders.
Hup-2-3.. :D
I think a small get together would be a good idea to start off with. Have that first and then we can plan a big one in the spring. And plan it well enough in advance so that those who have to travel can have lots of time to prepare. We should have plans made for the big one at least by the first of the year.
you need my help all u have to do is hollar
:laugh: I would love to come. My 45 year highschool reunion is the last weekend in September. Other than that I don't have anything booked. I think a Saturday would be the best day because of time to travel. This is exciting.
Then again ...
... maybe we should leave the forum family alone. I'm afraid you wouldn't like me if you saw my real warts and the shape of my stomach. Maybe I'm an old grouch in person. Dirty. Smelly.
... maybe Elk County is like Lake Wobegon, Minn., an illylic place where we all love another, tease each other, say nice things at bedtime, you know ... nothing at all like the real word.
... maybe it would be unfair to those living far away, because they enjoy being a part of this little forum family and they would feel left out.
Oh, well. Somebody needed to say those two little words: "Then again..."
So, let's party!
You can come to the party, Rudy, and make a full report of it for those poor people that won't be able to come. Wouldn't that work for those of you that know that you wouldn't be able to be here?
Ooooh! This sounds like fun! Both the big and little versions! Weekends are generally pretty good for Terrell and me, though Sept. 29 is already marked on our calendar. Any other weekend would be dandy...as long as I'm not put in charge of anything, that is! hee hee!
I would love to come. I can't be much help, but I can bring a side dish and clean-up. Rudy I think I spotted you at the bean feed at the Howard Fair? If it was you,I did not see any warts and your stomach looked no different then some of the men there.
So someone set a date and I will put it on my calendar.
Army Mom
It works for me. Rudy can write it up and we can vicariously be there. Where all the children are above average.
You speak my language, Diane.
::)I am certainly willing to sign a pact stating that I will not
judge anyone's stomach and ask them not to judge mine. Problem solved.
Last summer my husband and I and my best friend plus her husband hosted a party for people that we play World of Warcraft with. We had about 20 people, most of them camped out in our backyard. We had people come from ME, TX MI, WI, IL, CA, OR and British Columbia. Friday night we had a spaghetti feed, Saturday we went to the park and had a picnic and then drank, sang, BBQ'd and played poker all night. On Sunday we went to Mt. Rainier. It was very stressful, and I definatley wish there were more than just the 4 of us doing everything. I really could have done without going to the mountain on Sunday too.
My advice...
Keep it simple and have lots of help. Don't try to pack every minute with adventure and activities, and don't try to be Super Hostess. You'll end up having to go to your room in the middle of the party for a mini break-down. :'(
I Imagine it will be just for a Saturday afternoon type of deal..
( if Ta Ta and I are around each other too much we start to get along.. and I don't want that to happen.. LOL)
I would love to help out! I love planning and organizing and blah blah...you know...And with summer drawing to an end, things will be slowing down for us. I'm all in!
Rudy, our idea has grown and grown and grown. Teresa, just my two cents worth, now worth a penny, but why don't you take charge of this thing and pick a few to help and assign their jobs and that way there won't be all chiefs and no indians. I say you because, after all, you and Kjell started this forum so it's your fault we all want to get together. :angel: And I think just a saturday visit at the park would be just wonderful. Again, just my two cents worth.
I second the motion. All in favor?
(I know it's not my place to call a vote ~ I'm always butting in, that's me! ;D)
I think the Saturday afternoon with an early supper/late lunch would be good. I also think it would be good to introduce ourselves. Other than that, I rather imagine we will not be at a loss for conversation.......This sounds really cool.
I will volunteer to take care of the sign-in and name tags. That way I get to see who everybody is without trying to read their tags.
should add that you already know I will help in any way I can EXCEPT I WILL NOT BRING THE BISCUITS. ;D
I will do whatever needs to be done. Ms. T, just order me around like you always do. ;D
Actually it was just today that I thought I would get an"outline' kinda.. and get this ball rollin'.
~~~just some things that need to be done and decided on..
*date
*time
*place.. the west park
Everyone bring some thing to eat to share with everyone there.. ( covered dish or dishes) ..
Now should everyone bring a meat and something else? Or just leave it up to them if and how much they want to bring? Just randomly ?
Or do we want to have everyone list what ever they are bringing so there are not 10 desserts,
5 pans of scalloped potatoes and nothing else... :-\
Personally I like the idea of having a place where everyone can post what they are bringing.. so we can have lots of different things..( I luuuvvee to eat)
We will send out invitations ( by e-mail) for this get together and I think that it would be nice to kind of have an RSVP, so we can know how many we can plan on.
( Although with everyone bringing stuff, I guess it doesn't matter. how many we have.. but I think it would be nice)
We locals can furnish the ice and tea and water. If you want beer or anything else... you have to bring your own cooler with your beverage.
Have everyone bring their lawn chairs and table service...
Anything else?
I have two big water coolers that I can make tea in one and put water and ice in the other.
I will fix a couple of big roasts to bring.
Well I thought I would make some pies and of course fry some 'yard bird'.
OMG. I absolutely will not miss this get together. Ms. T's going to fry me some "yard bird". OMG. I can hardly wait. Pick a date. Pick a date. Pick a date.
Oh stop it! ::)
I'm frying it for everyone.. not just you..
Jeese.....
(At least you didn't ask me to bring baked macaroni and cheese.. )
I don't go anywhere that Becky Oakleaf doesn't want me to bring that. ::)
So I guess the date needs to be discussed.
This is going to be the biggy
I say that we have it September 22, 2007.
Kjell and I sometimes have to be gone on weekends that we don't know until the last minute..
I think that any weekend that we pick , there will be that possibility for anyone to have an unexpected turn of events that might come on.
But as far as I know, the 22nd sounds okay to me.
so.. what is everyone else schedule look like?
If there is any other dates that anyone wants to throw out there, so it and we will pick one.
( when is the Elk County Festival? )
The Elk River Festival is September 29. We could do it that day, just plan to meet for lunch around 1:30 or 2:00. That way they could come for the parade, look over the crafts, have lunch, go to the talent show and stay for the barbarque that evening. (Which is so much a plate.)
IMy highschool reunion is that day. (the 29th). Hope we can do it some other time, but can certainly understand if you pick that weekend. It sounds like a fun time. Sept Sept 15 would be my best weekend.
Quote from: Teresa on August 01, 2007, 07:04:15 PM
10 desserts, 5 pans of scalloped potatoes and nothing else... :-\
Personally, that sounds like a great meal to me! ;D ;D Okay, Okay. I'll plan on a couple different salads. I have a few extra chairs if anyone coming in needs some, let me know. I've no preference on a date right now.
At this microsecond, all of the dates mentioned are fine. I would think that if we do lunch/early afternoon it should be fine. We have some good stuff we usually take to pot lucks. They seem to be really popular around here. We could try them out on some new folk. Looking forward to this.
The Elk Festival I think will be too much in one day.
The main reason is I can't fry chicken and bake pies and be able to go to the festival too.
The 15th ..the 22nd.. both are good...so far.. for me..
Any other dates that are wanted?
I like the 22nd, because the Fall River Barbecue is the 15th. 4:00 or 5:00 would be nice, too.
I am planning yo come over to HOWARD,from Wichita on the 29th of September . I probably couldn't come two days. As I don't drive that much anymore.
That will leave me out on the 22nd, as KU has a football game that evening. I think if you can get a lot of the forum people together for the first time it really does not matter who is there and who is not, it would be fun for the people that can make it. After reading you replies again. KU has a football game on the 15th also.
What ever you decide everyone just have a good time.
Army Mom
Wonder what days work well for Rudy since it was his idea in the first place.
where ever and when ever is fine with me. Put me down for "Methodist" potatoes, also good for Baptists and Presbyterians, Catholics, and etc. This is a name given to a potato casserole by my aunt cause she said she never attended a Methodist dinner that these weren't there, hence the name. Hope no one is offended by that.
I will be offended if they don't taste good.
gosh, I'll also do my best not to offend Janet
This sounds like it would be alot of fun, hopefully you will do it every year as I know for sure I wont make it this year(to much going on) not only that I am real NEW to this board and might just want to get to know some of you a little better before I decide to make the 4 hour drive!! LOL :laugh:
You would find that the 4 hr. drive was well worth it. I am hoping that a lot of our out of county members will be able to be there.
If we can't find a Sept. date, how about Oct. The first weekend of Oct. is city wide garage sales and I have one of the biggest, but I would close it at noon on Sat. if I had some place like a Forum reunion to go to.
Either the 15th or 22nd would work for us. We're going to have a booth at the Sept. 29 festival, so if it was the same day, we'd miss out on the get-together and food. We can't have that, now can we? No way!
I'd be happy to bring a pasta salad or veg salad of some sort. And some folding canvas chairs.
Not sure of the dates being open on my social calendar yet, but will do some checking. In the meantime, Flo, this joke is for you.......
A 1st grade teacher gave her class a "show and tell" assignment. Each student was instructed to bring in an object to share with the class that represented their religion.
The first student got up in front of the class and said, "My name is Benjamin and I am Jewish and this is the Star of David."
The second student got up in front of the class and said, "My name is Mary. I'm a Catholic and this is a rosary."
The third student got up in front of the class and said, "My name is Tommy. I am a Methodist. And this is a casserole."
Flo, I have a recipe for Methodist Chicken! You might want it too!
mlw
Susan, that was hilarious - thanks for sharing that. Will remember to share it with Aunt Vola Sunday at the reunion. Had an e-mail from her last night that she would not be bringing "Methodist" potatoes this year so it was up to me. Wouldn't be a family reunion without 'em. (note to self: don't forget to go to Family Market today)
Hey, who said the Methodists are chicken?
(That should start a new thread that will last until the judgment day)
Long ride ;D
I didn't say Methodists were chicken---but they do know how to make Methodist Chicken. Actually, the recipe was given to me by a Baptist!
Oh, my, here we go again! ;) ;D
Back to the topic at hand!
We have several dates and we need some more input on them or other dates if anyone has a preference.
If not.. we will decide...and go from there.
Teresa, my two cents worth again - I don't think you can get a date that is going to be satisfactory to everyone - with so many there are going to be those that are too far to travel, have other things already scheduled, etc. I vote - you just pick a date and let the rest of us know. Those than can come, will, and those that can't can maybe make the next one. We can always let them know what a good time everyone else had. ;D Just for the record I am against having it the same day as the Elk River Festival, however.
Ditto. Ditto. And the folks that can't make it will be surely be able to watch a wonderful video slideshow shortly thereafter. 8)
oh, yeah, Teresa, don't forget your video camera ;)
The way things change in life, who knows? Just throw a dart at the calendar and let us know where it lands.
We gotta keep Teresa happy, so let her choose the date.
Get that girl ticked off and she'll unplug us. With no Elk County Forum, we'd go back to being
boring ol' us.
Go, girl.
I agree, I agree, I agree.
Pick a date, Teresa (and Kjell). Those of us who can come will do so. The rest of us will have to wait for the next one. (and I'm assuming there'll be a next one. I can't imagine us getting together once and saying, "okay, that's it, no more." :D )
As you guys already know, someone's going to be unhappy. But it will also work out that that's the best weekend for someone else. :)
I miss going to things all the time----some I'm invited to----others I wish I could be invited to. My only thought is.....if you set the date too far away---people might forget it. If it is too soon, some may have already penciled in other affairs. So, you can't win 'em all. I am with the ones who say let Teresa pick the date and go from there. And it could be that the ones who make it are already here and may see each other around anyway. Still fun!
:DDid someone say something about baked macaroni and cheese??? :P
ok.............
September 22.... at the West park..( there is more shade there and it is bigger)
Starting at.....
Do ya'll want to start at 2:00?.. 3:00?
I think noon might be too hot.
If it's raining... I will make sure I have the Cox Building on stand by.
And mama and I were talking..and I think she is right ..
that I think that it won't hurt everyone to bring some kind of meat dish and then another side dish.
For one thing, it will give a nice variety and it will take the load off of Ta Ta and I so we won't have to make such humongous quantity's of meat. ( Although I will fry quite a bit of chicken.. but still I think it is a great idea.)
What do you think of that suggestion?
Is there any other details?
Fine with me. That is just 2 blocks north of me and if it weren't uphill I could roll up there. Joanna is also close so guess neither of us has an excuse not to be there.
And I'm catty-corner, so I'll be there.
I think your idea of two dishes - meat and side dish - is a good one. I'm assuming the side dish could be veggies, salad or dessert, right?
As far as time goes - if we're going to eat, 2 pm would make it a late lunch, which is fine. Or bump it to 4 pm and have an early supper, which is also fine. If we all know we're going to eat shortly after we get there, the time won't matter, I think.
sides can be anything..
And Maybe 3:00?
would that be okay with everyone?
Aye!
Aye, aye!
Aye, Aye, Aye!
:D :D :D :D :D :D
Penciled in the date----on top of one other thing---hopefully things will work out and I can do both. THanks for the invite and the planning. Let me know if I can help with anything.
Bring food.. table service..lawn chair.. and a happy grin on your face and your voice box all tuned in to talk..
That'd be about it! ;D
Sept. 22, at 3:00 p.m. I'll be there with bells on.
Janet,
This could be our big chance! You mentioned bells---why don't you and I work on a demo song for the event? I am thinking of several "numbers" that might fit the bill. And then if Teresa would video tape it and it gets out---who knows where it could take us? Think it over and get back to me. I mean talking.....singing......not that much difference, right?
Oh, no! Janet found out?
Quick, everybody ... maybe we can change the date.
Let's do that. I'm sure we can come up with a song we can sing together. We have a little over a month to get it together.
Rudy, why you be mean to me? Why you bite me? Why you no like me?
Janet, that is even funnier since you told us where it came from.
QuoteI'll be there with bells on.
Isn't the saying:
with rings on her fingers and bells on her toes, she shall have music wherever she goes.
Well, I think so, but I was hoping I could just have the bells on and leave the rings off.
You'd better ride your white horse too.
Oh, Janet, you know everybody loves you.
(Except the dumb voters)
Now, that made me laugh out loud, Rudy.
YeeeeeHawwwwwwwwww September 22, 2007 West Park, Howard Kansas What could be better --- rain or shine, and then we have the Marshallette and the Marshal ridin' herd on the day and the option of a back up place -- Cox Building ---
Now really, forum family, it doesn't get much better than this. Only thing missing to bring is your camera just in case we are asked to contribute some candid shots to add to the much anticipated vidoe to emerge from this wonderful get together.
wow - take a day off for my own family reunion and things really start hopping. Sounds like everything is planned and on track except for the entertainment which seems to be up in the air yet, but time to bring it back down to earth before the 22nd of September. Speaking of bells, any of you ever hear the bells I always wore on my shoes on Christmas Eve day at work and Christmas Day wherever I was? I know some of you had to be in the Co-op on that day. Bells and my Santa hat. Now Merry Christmas everyone, I gotta get busy. See ya the 22nd. (course I'll lbe posting between now and then ;D)
Well, Flo, I really think you are NEEDED as well as coming just for the fun of it.
I think Janet is singing, right? or singing and dancing - I forget which.
Emptynest is providing the choreography for her, if she's dancing,
and singing with her if she's just singing.
We need you to provide the accompaniment - that can be piano, organ or bells. ;D
I half-way volunteered to find an outfit for her,
but my sources were simply going to be the people on the forum here.
I figure Teresa will video-tape it for posterity.
I'll help with publicity for Janet and Emptynest.
I can contact the newspaper (hello, Rudy!!! ;) )
I just know that Janet likes accompaniment and that's one of the things you do well.
If you want to use your bells, that's between the two of you. ;D ;D ;D
mom70x7 - U know, the entertainment COULD be a piano duet or a piano and organ duet, don't ya' think? OR a piano and organ duet with a song and dance team ::) just endless possibilities. ;D
I'll play chopsticks with you - ;D !
Ta Ta loves the sound of her own voice.. ::) so I wouldn't worry too much about accompaniment.
I am sure by the end of this event.. we will have all have had the "privilege" of listening to her endless blabbering .
(http://www.cascity.com/howard/animations/crazy.gif)
Teresa will you have hay for my pony ;) ;D
Not only will Teresa have hay for your horse, Narvous, she will help the horse eat the hay, 'cause I'm going to stick her face in it. LOL
Whoaaaaa!
Go Girl Go
I am out of this she has a big stick ;D
Naw. It's okay. Ms. T knows she deserves me talking like that to her. :laugh:
Whhhyyyyyyy I oughta.....................................
(http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:5RvrYY0b3vFekM:skbigm.googlepages.com/ThreeStooges_3.jpg)
OK, listen up.
When we all show up at this big doins, we need to "act" exactly like we talk on this forum ... including these friendly little jabs.
We should laugh, hug, tease, take pictures and visit with each other.
Otherwise, Ta Ta will dominate, ya know?
OK! I'm kidding, Janet!!!!
I am not sure if I can come or not.......I may come to visit, not eat........if that is all right.
The next weekend I have to go to Topeka and KC for my cancer checkup and it will depend on gas
prices then.....can't do it all.
What time will you all be through eating? OR will you? Seems where ever Elk County people get together
there is food involved....LOL.......wonder if it is like that all over or just here?
Food is a big part of where I work. We always joke that that is the reason we have so many stairs her at LCC. Seems like even on over this way there is the philosophy, "feed them and they will come." Not a bad one..............
If we set the time to 3:00.. I would imagine we would be done eating by 4.. (although I have been known to go back and grab a bite here and there.. ;))
but I imagine when we are done.. we will gather up everything because of the flies.. BUT.. that is just a guess on my part. You never know when it comes to food.. lol
Wish I would be able to be there but my vacation got squeezed in between two other peoples and I will be going the weekend of the 8th and coming home the 15th. If I would have been able to come I would have brought some saurkraut salad. Sure is good in the summer time.
Maybe I can plan better next year.
I love sauerkraut! ;D
I'll bring 3 or 4 dozen, really good cookies. (In other words I won't be baking them). I'll probably bring Chocolate Chip and Oatmeal Raisin. (Wow, I finally came up with a food idea)
Well it has happened again. I guess I have this clone somewhere that can do twice as much as me. Ruth and I had planned on venturing over to the get together, had the food planned, etc. When I went to set up my calendar for the moth (aka my brain), I found that I double scheduled myself. We have a church event that day. So, we will have to bug out. Hopefully (said with exasperated hope) we can make it to the next one.
I'm sorry to hear that... but hopefully you will get to come to the next one.. :)
Not sure about the get-together. My nephew died Monday and if they schedule the funeral for Saturday I will
attempt to go to it.
I hadn't made up my mind if I was going to be able to come or not........and I think this has just told me where I should/would go.
Have a great time and I will come next year/time.
God willing and all of that.
Hugs and God bless. Judy
okay.. help me out here a little bit.
How many do we suppose will be there on Saturday?
around 15-20?
I will not be there for the picnic. We will be in town for the festival on the 29th, and two weekends in a row from OKC is more than I'm ready to tackle. Hope you have a wonderful time--I'll look forward to hearing all the TALES of the venture! KRI
2 from here
Teresa, we would love to be there but this old man is having surgery in Lubbock Texas next week and I will be stuck in the Hospital for a few days and not able to travel for quite awhile. I was looking forward to all of the great cooking.
Have fun I am anxious to hear about it later.
Frank Winn
Tim and I still plan to come, but we will both be working that day so might be a few minutes late.
I am planning on coming, but if it looks like in the end to few are going to show up to warrent the food and planning, let me know. It is 4 hours one way for me. I was going to stay all night Friday night, but may just come Saturday morning. Haven't decided. Anyway keep me posted.
I hope to be there. I'm trying to get away. Not sure right now.
2 from here
Doggone it, I hate this, but I can't be there on Saturday afternoon. I've got to emcee a barbeque for Sen. Derek Schmidt at Independence at 5 p.m. and must be there by 4.
Originally, when we talked about 1 p.m., I thought I could make it, but I'll have to skip this one. Please tell everyone hello for me.
Well dang... I am wondering if maybe we shouldn't move the date to November sometime...
There is not many going to be able to make it.. just sounds like about 10 locals..
What do you all think?
I haven't started making anything yet and my chickens will freeze.. ( Actually November would be a better time anyway ( for me)
But with Susan, and Rudy and frank and Myrna and Old Granny and Patryn, Judy Harder, Vinettes and a few others that can't make it now .. maybe the time to do it would be later.
Comments??
If it is up to me............Later would be better.......and indoors better still.
I don't think I have plans for November..........but you know LIFE.....it does get in the way when I
plan something.
again, I am just a voice of one and will do what all agrees to. keep the plans going
I do think we should have a yearly (twice-yearly) meeting............lets hear it from others.
Hugs and God bless..Judy
Actually later would be better for me. I was going to try to do this, but with everything I have to do next week it was going to be a real stretch both physically and financially to do it all. In fact it would be a relief to me do it later. My cousin was going to try and come down and she had to cancel as well.
I have a wedding in Wichita the last weekend in October and then am planning nothing else, except with our group.
November would be fine. I'd like to save up and stay at the Cattle Baron I hear it is really nice.
While working on our wood floors, my husband decided to replace a few windows before finishing the floors. The dining room windows are almost in. Good idea since everything is out of his way but this extends the mess. Talk about unorganization. Later would be better for me, too. Ole Granny
We have 25th anniversary and another meeting in November already. So, November is not good for us, but that's ok. I think we just need to get it started.
Kjell just called and it is a good possibility that he will have to fly out to California Friday for the wk end.
Nothing definite but it looks to be that way.
I am going to make the call here.
We will cancel this get together for now..and I will speak for the Cox Building for November sometime.
There is no point in having a get together if no one can make it.
It is just one of those "life things" as Judy said.
Hope everyone is okay with me making this decision, but time didn't allow me to mull it over much..
I will post this in the other thread too...
Oh, that makes me so happy! I won't miss the get-together after all.
Looking forward to a rescheduled date.
Works for me. We will freeze whatever. I prefer being inside anyway. More hard surface for wheelies.
I for one did not get this mesesage in time. I have food prepared that won't freeze, have made two trips to the park and finally decided I had the time wrong. Oh, well, won't be the first time I have wasted food. >:(
Flo, So sorry you missed the cancellation. Next time when they have it-just come and don't bring food. What were we going to have from you?? Tell us so we can suffer. I had a peanut butter sandwich for lunch because I was too busy to cook anything. I don't even like peanut butter sandwiches. Sorry! Ole Granny
I don't remember the meat - but she was bringing the Methodist potatoes!!!
I want some!!!!! :(
Oh well, maybe next time.
the potatoes and I had fixed a smoked sausgage/saurkraut dish
I wish I had some of the potatoes and sausage. I don't need the sauerkraut. I get tired of having to decide what to fix for myself. Since first daughter is close, she makes some of the decisions and does most of the actual cooking.
OK, gang, everybody head ot Flo's for lunch today! No use letting that food go to waste.
Just kidding, of course.
sorry, Rudy, you're too late. It's already thrown out. :-\
Flo, I feel so bad for you. Even though I knew I couldn't come, I know you were looking forward to the get together and worked hard on your contribution to it. How can we (I) make it up to you? I know it's different out there, but around here we always have sources for safe left overs. My fire house guys are always up for something good, the senior center takes food and we have a small orphanage that is always grateful for whatever comes their way, the Sunday Breakfast Mission also and to some extent, The Salvation Army. I guess it's just my peculiar way, but I hate to see hard work and good cooking wasted.
Oh, Flo, I am so sorry. I was afraid that someone wouldn't have time to read the Forum and sure enough, it happened to you. Want me to make dinner for you, then you not show up, then I throw it out?
A confidential hint to Flo: Be nice to Janet but throw her food out anyway.
I hear she is a carrier of pediscuedicogwamificoficatory ijjitricululosis.
Oh I am SO sorry Flo. I just now got on the forum today and seen where you didn't see the cancellation. I take full responsibility. I should have e-mailed everyone personally and I didn't even think of it. You are one of the regulars that is on the forum a lot and I just figured that even though you hadn't been posting much you were probably reading.
I am once again. very sorry for not sending e-mails.
I will be glad to reimburse you for the $ amount of food or better yet.. I will make you something and send it over.
Why did you throw it out? From what I remember, Marvin will eat anything.. LOL
i feel so bad for you, and I know that the time and effort in making it can't be reimbursed.
I just feel horrible... :-[
Please accept my apology.
Rudy, I hope Janet doesn't really have Pediscuedcogwamificatoryijjitriculosis! ( By the way, it only has one "j' in it.) It can be very serious if it isn't caught early. I've only seen a few cases on the ambulance over the years. We've pretty well gotten rid of it on the east coast. There is a shot for it, but it's only about 80% effective and no insurance covers it. It's those darn itchy blisters between the toes that are so bothersome. The horney growths on the side of the foot aren't too bad, but it makes wearing nylons difficult. They keep getting snagged. :(
... you can't just say horney growths!
Too late, Rudy. She done went and said it.
Horny Toads?
Rudy is right Diane! This is a family forum and some of us are more prudes than others. Personally, I believe I'm most likely the prudiest. :angel:
I guess that considering your profession, you are used to seeing lots of things the rest of us would shudder at, so you are excused. ;D ;D ;D
And I don't have a clue what that "P" word is besides pedi has to do with feet. Sounds awful though, so I hope I never get it.
That's ok, prudy people may have natural immunity. It's a relatively new disease that the space shuttle astronauts may have brought back from one of the early space walk missions. They are safe in their suits, but when they go back inside, who knows what's on the outside of the suit that goes inside with them? The early cases were in Florida, so warm, humid weather may help it spread. It was up and down the east coast for awhile but I don't think it got very far west.
Well, whatever it is, I don't have and I don't want it. Ha ha. It sounds nasty. Remind me not to shake the foot of an astronaut.
Like you are in the company of astronauts! ::)
Jeese... *really rolling my eyes*
But non the less.. when the time comes and we are dressed to the hilt and we are at a huge important party of the year and one of the astronauts starts to set down beside you..I will try to remember to remind you to shake his hand...NOT his foot.
Unless, of course, he just straightened up in his chair after removing his shoe and scratched between his itchy toes.
OHHHH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Be very careful, Janet ---- no shakie the itchies :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
