Welcome, Rudy. Come to play.
You are no. 7 today.
New member, that is. I am running out of greetings for new members. Help me someone.
Rudy, Rudy, he's here to play.
Glad he didn't wait another day.
Wonder if he wants to pay.
Or just be welcomed and have a say.
There ya go.
Hi, ya'll.
You don't mind an old newspaperman in your midst do you?
We don't mind at all, but we might expect more from you. You might even raise the intellect of some of our members. Not mentioning any names.
Mother,
You quit talking about me.
Welcome, Rudy. We are glad that you are here and I hope you got the pictures I sent you from the Zimmerman Funeral Home Fire. If you read the posts you will see that Lloyd came through a surgery today and hopefully his son, Charlie, will update us when he gets a minute.
Welcome Rudy! I'm glad you've joined us here. You can learn so much on the forum: Up-to-the-minute news, History, Fun Facts, even a little gossip and a LOT of joking around. What a great mix!

We're always happy to have a new
victim member to
harass banter with. I'm sure you'll enjoy your time here!
Welcome, Rudy.
We're nutty here, and full of fruitcakes! Take your pick.
Maybe you can add some REAL information occasionally. :)
What a nice welcome everyone gave. I'll look forward to peeking in here each evening. And thank you Janet for the photos. We're having to rely totally upon the internet to publish this week's newspaper. We're doing the same with other papers in Montgomery, Chautauqua and Labette counties that we can't reach by car for a while.
Welcome Rudy, This forum is a great community.
Howdy Rudy.
You betcha we like newspaper men( or women) in here. :)
Pull up a chair.. prop your feet by the old pot belly stove and sit and relax a bit.
But remember.. you have to tell a windy story once and awhile..
( Try to keep ahead of Ta Ta ( Janet)
She is the windiest of all of us.. ;)
Thanks for the warning about Ta Ta Actually she has been so helpful in getting info to our newspaper many times. Good friend. So, is Highway 99 closed between 400 and Howard?
I don't know if it is now or not. Actually, I would think that the water has receded in most places to make it safe to cross.
Welcome Rudy, ...so glad you decided to join us here. it was nice to see you rolled up you sleeves and start posting welcome aboard.
Welcome, Rudy...if you enjoy the forum as much as I enjoy your newspapers, you are in for a treat.
I spilled my guts on what I "thought" was the roll call, but don't see it poosted anywhere. So don't be surprised if it shows up in the Coffee Shop or somewhere else. Is it any wonder they call me a bumbling editor?
I found it on the Roll Call. Like hearing about other people. Makes my world wider.
You made it to Roll Call!
Didn't seem much of a "guts" though. Rather tame, I thought. Fits right in with the rest of u. ;D ;D

No, Highway 99 is not closed from Howard to Severy. I went to work today in El Dorado, so everything is just fine with "my" highway.
MY highway... MY friends....
::) sighhhhhhh~~
**What next??!**
On the other hand, if she wants to claim it as "her" highway . . . now we know where to go when we have concerns with it. :D
Hi Rudy...a pleasure to meet you! I've got ink in my blood as well (15-plus years in newspapers), so already we have something in common. Glad you've discovered the forum....it's brimming over with lots of great history and mystery (and hysterics on occasion), and many fine folks with interesting stories to share.
By the way, Janet, Terrell and I plan to drive on your road tomorrow evening. Is that OK? Oh, and we think you did a grand job with the repaving. When will you be doing the landscaping? Hee hee.
Hey, Rudy. I read your "Opinions" in this week's paper. My solution for when Bud forgets where his box is, is Out Stain and Odor Remover spray. It really works. But the best solution I have come up with for outside is to have someone get his dog to mark the area. We noticed the odor of tom cat at the back door of the garage a few months ago when getting ready for the spring garage sales. One of my customers was a gentleman with a small dog on a leash. The small dog was marking everything that he came to, so I asked the gentleman to take him to the alley and have him mark the doorway of the garage. We haven't smelled tom cat back there since. It seems to have worked as I still see the cat around.
By the way, I enjoyed the article. I think the cat likes you and just can't come up with any other present for you.
