Every once in a while, from out on my deck, I will see a hawk get a rabbit. Of course, our rabbit population was thinned out last winter when the bobcat was living right behind our house. He got 90% of them, I'll bet, before he moved to the next stop on his food circuit. The rabbits  rebounded pretty well this spring, though, at least well enough to eat most of my wife's plants out front. Until she raided my tabasco supply to shoo them away.

Speaking of hawks, I love to watch the little birds protect their nests against hawks. You'll see a hawk just floating at the top of the tree line and pretty quick there are 2 or 3 small birds harassing the hawk. At least one of those small birds will land on the hawk's back and start pecking away. I haven't seen the hawk win one of those battles yet.
