Kevan Rai Hodges, age 69, of Elk Falls, Kansas, passed away February 4, 2026 at his home. He was born on January 23, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Jack Rai and Ruby Jean (Reneau) Hodges.
On June 26, 1982, Kevan married Kimberly A. Salman. They then began their 43-year life journey together. Kevan was an independent and self-reliant person who was an avid outdoorsman. Known as a "Jack-Of-All-Trades", he taught himself how to do anything he didn't already know how to do. He could build and repair anything, designing buildings and making material lists all in his head. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was known to be a great marksman. Kevan was a farmer and a Master Gardener and had extensive knowledge of trees and plants. He was a longtime member of the Kansas Grown Farmers Market where he also served on the board for some time. He raised Kansas native plants and popular perennials which he sold at the market and was known for helping customers find the right plants for their soil. Most importantly, Kevan loved his friends and family and always enjoyed a good laugh.
Survivors include his wife, Kimberly; his son, Jesse Rai (Celinda) Hodges of Olathe, Kansas; grandchildren, Megan Hodges and Erin Hodges; and sisters, LeAnn (Dylan) Burns of Edmond, Oklahoma and Gayle Hodges of Wichita, Kansas. Kevan was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has been requested with no services planned at this time. In lieu of memorials, the family request you support your local Kansas Grown Farmers Market. Arrangements are under the direction of Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
