Title: The Pink Citizen
Post by: Marcia Moore on March 13, 2007, 06:14:19 PM
The Severyite - Sept. 21, 1939 .......
Last week, F.C. Flory and Floyd C. Flory, publishers of the Citizen at Howard, greatly pleased their readers with a pink paper, consisting of two sections.  Obviously this issue with letters from Elk County "wanderers" and advertisements from Howard firms welcoming the return of friends, announces the fall festival which will be held Sept. 28, 29 and 30.  The publishers expect to make the "Pink Citizen" an annual event.

I vaguely remember reading something about the "Pink Citizen."  But I don't think it ever 'got off the ground."

Hey, you know, that is kind of a neat concept.  Maybe the fall festival here in Howard could do something like that, "The Pink Citizen" celebration.  Everyone could wear pink, the floats could be decked out in pink and we could raise money for breast cancer.  What do you think????
